"You're only furiten if you're a bitch" - Sun Tzu, Flow Book 1

No matter how big your hand is, a tanyao will end it all.

Tile evaluation is actual rocket science.

Protip: hell wait on the last copy of a wind that isn't yours for maximum psychological damage.

"Mehh i'll watch akagi later when i fully grasp mahjo- OOOOHHH WHAT HE ACTUALLY DISCARDED HIS HAKU WHILE HE HAD A KOTSU JUST TO BAIT ICHIKAWA TO SWITCH THE DORA INDICATOR?"

This video finally convinced me to learn Mahjong.
My productivity is at a all-time low when I most needed it, my lingo is now full of new terrible terms like "tsumo" and "13 orphans" which scares every living thing away from me and my search history is now full of the Genesis/Megadrive hit "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" because that's what you get when you look up "Sega MJ".

Thank you Tyron from the deepest of my heart.

"Ron! 2Yakuhai 11Dora!"
someone really did this hand what da fak

Occult mahjong is such a wild concept and I'm glad it exists. I need to get in to this game more sometime.

I recently picked up Riichi Mahjong from playing Yakuza.  I eventually got Mahjong Soul and I play it every day (when my kids give me quiet time).  Such an engrossing game, I'm happy to be learning it.

played primarily by retired mediocre fighting game players

This is still one of my favorite Mahjong memes. This is in my inventory of videos I show my Riichi Newbie Converts lol.

"They shoot you with a GUN, the US tax code, until someone... fucking dies, (TACO BELL BONG) a bit bigger than that, COPE AND SEETHE, until someone walks into a rake and explodes, **occult mahjong**"

How are there this many banger lines in one video?

Playing mahjong cost me my sanity

i played mahjong once and now i’m gay

Picked up this game a couple weeks ago because I thought the memes were funny.

Now the memes are hilarious.

one time I dealt into a hand and then immediately dealt into orphans

You don't need to be a mathematician or an occult wizard to enjoy mahjong, but being one or both certainly helps.

I now holding my friends and family at tilepoint to play the game, thanks riichi.
