In the 1960's, my family lived in old Hollywood furnished rental apartments. The furniture, blinds and drapes looked like in this movie. Back then two bedroom apartments were $150.00 a month. Our gas and phone bills were $10.00 a month each. A big round steak was $1.00.

Hugh Beaumont, of Leave it to Beaver fame! He was a great man in real life, too! Hugh Beaumont served in World War II as a conscientious objector, working as a combat medic. Despite being a lay minister, he dodged bullets while helping wounded GIs. He lived as a devout Christian, a true role model for American youth.

How can anyone not love the adventures and miss-adventures of Michael Shane?
It must be and Irish American of Scot-Irish thing. In-joy.

That 'drunk' @39:39 is Charles King, a bad-guy character actor, veteran of many 30s-40s B-westerns. While he almost never got a chance to play a 'good-guy', he did appear in more than 400 films between 1915 and 1956, alongside stars, Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, Hop-a-long Cassidy, and John Wayne.
Think of it- over 400 films in a 40 year career? The man was a workhorse, and put modern 'pretty-boy actors' to shame!

If June would have known what a player Ward was, Wally and the Beeve wouldn’t have existed.

Another "How to solve a crime in 59 minutes". Another Super Hero Private Dick! I wonder if his newspaper friend ever did any work? And oh yes, the head cop always yelling at Shane - wow what a great idea, I've never seen this in any detective series... Still, nice easy on the brain/eyes, harmless 'Cops and Robbers' show.

So that was why Ward Cleaver always sped into his driveway, he was always shaking off people that were tailing him.
Now we know his real job.😮

Hugh Beaumont went on to play Ward Cleaver, everyone's favorite dad on "Leave It to Beaver".

This must be one of the later Michael Shane movies. Appears to be a different actor

I miss men wearing hats like this.

Ward Cleaver sees the other car's headlights in the mirror, but we can't see them out the back window. 🤔

I like the secretary, but I don’t like that weird looking hairdo.

Lloyd Nolan he's not; and the Columbia scripts had wit and verve, which this production is sadly lacking in. No sale here. I'll stick with Lloyd as Mike Shayne.
