Idk if anyone's explained it yet but to give you some context on Stanford and Crying Tree:
Tablo attended Standford University for a degree in English (i think) before taking up music in SKorea and becoming super popular. But during the peak of his career, his supposed cousin started up a rumour that Tablo had never attended Stanford and that he was lying. This became a big deal for reasons I will never understand and Koreans began to actually witch hunt Tablo online AND offline for 'lying' about attending a prestigious university. It got so bad to the point that people were emailing professors to verify that he had attended Stanford, harassing his wife and family despite getting actual proof of enrollment in Stanford, to the point where Tablo was pushed into severe anxiety bc of all the threats and constant hounding. It was bad to the point where people still refer to that time as Tajinyo (타진요), short for "We Demand the Truth from Tablo" (타블로에게 진실을 요구합니다).
He was joking about it earlier, but one of the reasons he had to let his wife drive to the hospital is because he was afraid of letting a stranger drive a taxi cab for them during that time.
The Crying Tree is a reference to a tree on the Stanford Univerity campus that became well known after Tablo, at the peak of Tajinyo, stood under and cried after getting his degree verified. Epik High dropped by there in a previous episode of EPIKASE and joked around, taking pictures with it and supposedly erasing the 'trauma' attached to it. So now they're asking BTS to take a picture with it too to gain positive energy. Funny that you should post this rn because BTS are currently at Stanford and we're waiting to see if we get The Photo lol

53:55 Jimin being the emotional support for everyone in BTS is actually so wholesome😭

1:06 "I'm expecting a  MATURE conversation."
me : OK, Let's talk about who would win if RM and Suga fight.
😆😆😆😆😆😆

Seriously nothing is more comforting and satisfying than watching you guys react to bangtan😭🫶🏻

15:54 Tablo's wife was in the movie "Oldboy" which 2.0 music video is inspired by.

55:43 Save Namjoon from 95 liners 😂😂

Namjoon and Suga share a deep, long-standing relationship with Tablo. The trio are close friends, musical peers, and mutual fans. Tablo has frequently mentored and collaborated with the BTS members, citing them as brilliant, high-IQ artists who revolutionized the global music scene. Tablo also appears in Suchwita with Suga and has a song with RM "Stop the rain"

I love how relaxed and comfortable Suga is here. He's among good friends and it shows in how talkative and involved he is. Tablo was also a guest on Suchwita.

How unemployed can I be to watch this in the first 2 mins😔✌️

Yk what’s the most wholesome thing ? Namjoonie is the maknae of their group 😭✋🏻Like Joonie is the youngest?😭🥹💜

Tablo went through an insane witch hunt at the peak of his career so I was very relieved to know that during the whole dumb kickboard ordeal yoongi had someone to lean on ☹️

"I'm expecting a nice, mature conversation " oh boy 😂😭

"i am expecting a nice mature conversation" 🤣🤣 yeah u will see

Jimin is very empathetic and has a lot of emotional intelligence, which is why he's the one who supports all the members.

37:30 I can never get over Namjoon saying that jungkook and jin have the same mental age . Jin is our official fake maknea and i love jins childishness so much, Jinkook moments are always funny, it is almost as if they are fighting for the maknea position🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

oh my god you should listen "stop the rain" epik high tablo and rm collab... it's so good

Going to give you some more context on some things that might help you understand the whole ep better:

- 22:15 Tablo graduated from Stanford with bachelor in english literature and master in creative writing. The Tajinyo incident was basically Tablo’s haters spread this rumor that his degrees from Stanford are fake. Stanford then had to come out to come to defend Tablo’s degree that it is indeed real. The situation was so bad it caused one of his family member to get sick from stress and later pass away. The incident happened around the time his wife was pregnant with Haru, getting into a taxi at the time wasn’t really a choice for him at the time bcs the situation was so dire
- 15:46 Park Kyu-bong is used to censor ‘F you’ and is the name of Epik High’s lightstick. It’s like a play word on ‘F you’ 😂, bcs bong meaning lightstick and park-kyu sounds like… well… (and to give more context, the surname Park written in Hangul is 박 (literally read as Bak/Pak) so when reading a name with Park surname the R doesnt really actually make a sound, it just how they romanised the surname) ! And the shape of the lightstick is actually middle finger, hence the name 😂
- 19:14 there was this somewhat smear campaign against bts at the time, and namjoon kind of tired with it all and expressed that on his live, but the media and antis twisted his words and even got into news. More context: k-media aren’t a big fan of bts or at least some of them. it’s partly because of political reasons, that bts is associated with being progressive (democratic party) despite them never going deep into politics esp domestic politics, and partly because BTS’ fame wasn’t built by narrative created by the media which is how they kind of drive the k-pop industry (without meaning to diminish other idols’ hard work)

Epik high (and tablo especially) have been some of the nicest people to bts. I think its also because tablo himself has been through absolute hell with the korean music industry, so it makes sense why he is still so humble and kind to his juniors

1:11 a nice mature conversation 😂😂😂

14:44 Namjoon was actually so real for that lmao
