It feels like Derek could have been a Breen if he was able to achieve that zen-like disregard for any criticism. Like not only does Niel not seem to care that people laugh at his movies and seems to just be happy people pay to come see them, he also doesn't seem to have ever caved to pressure to lean into it. He just makes the movies he wants to make no matter how head-scratching they are. And I love that for him. May we all conspire to let Breen live in a headspace where he can continue to strive to achieve his artistic vision. I would legitimately love nothing more than to see him actually get there, to actually make his movie and for it to turn out to just be fucking amazing.

The natural evolution of a content creator with no real talents is to try and game the algorithm with anti-woke rage farming. Rob Schneider ended up doing it once his buddies at Happy Madison stopped making garbage that they let him be in, and he basically had no other options. A lot of people don’t know this, but Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles both had brief career attempts as creative writers and actors. When they failed to get work, partly because of how competitive those fields are and partly because they just weren’t good at being creatives, instead of reevaluating and trying to hone their craft, they instead found success saying various awful things online. I’m pretty sure these guys have some sociopathic tendencies, where they’re able to rationalize the most effectively horrible/idiotic statements that gets the strongest reaction from people.

I get that it's not fair to expect some awkward white guy to say "KAH RAH TEH" with perfect pronunciation, but there's something hilarious about the way he says "KROTTY" in one quick, rushed, goofy syllable.
