Waylon Jennings is the father of outlaw country. He started that genre. Also, sings the dukes of hazard theme song, good ole boys.

What people need to remember is that these are the Originators of "Outlaw Country" They all got starts in Nashville but were truly independent of "Corporate Country" and got together to start a new genera.

Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson "Good Hearted Woman" or "Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys".

This is such a cool reincarnation song to cover “The Highwayman” over a century.

Waylon Jennings is arguably the greatest combination of singer, songwriter, and musician to ever do country music

They are the first outlaws of country

Little known fact:  protecting stagecoaches from highwaymen is the origin of the phrase "riding shotgun", because if you were up top next to the driver, you were carrying a long gun.

These are the legends. Waylon's voice you can feel in your soul. Waylon Jennings is the best country singer of all time IMO.

Waylon was originally one of Buddy Holly's Crickets. He actually gave up his seat to the Big Bopper on the night Valens, Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper crashed known as the Day the Music died.

Willie Nelson is now the only one of them still living. Waylon died in 2002, Johnny Cash in 2003 and Kris Kristofferson in 2024. Willie is 92 years old.

Waylon Jennings gave up his seat to Richie Valens on the fateful plane that crashed in Iowa in the late 50s that killed Buddy Hollly the Big Bobber and Richie Valens ….  “The Day the Music Died “

Some of Waylon you can't go wrong with:
"Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got of Hand";
"I've Always Been Crazy";
"Are You Sure Hank Done it This Way"

It's the reincarnation of the spirit of the America man, IMHO!

It's the telling of the incurable boldness of the human spirit.

This song is about reincarnation and got some heat in the bible belt, it was controversial in the 80s. It's a classic! Their grandkids have gotten together and done a version, too.

These four were founding members of a branch of country music known as 'Outlaw Country'. They bucked the system and the studio system to do things their own way. Hence the name 'The Highwaymen'.

Waylon and Willie did Momma Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys. Awesome song!

I always interpreted it as how the morality of man has evolved generation by generation, and if we're not careful we will slip to being the original highwayman again.

Waylon Jennings Sang  Luckenback Texas, Back To the Basics,  I've Always Been Crazy, Good Hearted Woman and Mamma Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys with Willie Nelson.

Welcome to the Original Outlaw Country artists. These are the one's who invented it.
