Love it. I did my virgin ride with two friends last week through France into Belgium. Stayed two night in Leuven. I too plan to ride on my own next year.....avoiding those N routes. I hear the D938 is a good route. St, Omar next year and maybe to Luxembourgh. Thanks for sharing and those digs looked good on the roof of other buildings. Ride Safe. :)
You’re not a million miles from me Donny! Anyhow, lovely to hear the noise of a triple engine, lovely. I use my Tiger now to tour (just uploaded a European trip) however, did the full Normandy tour on my Street Triple a few years ago, it was great with visits to the beaches and museums. Enjoyed the ride and look forward to the next one.
My first trip was to Spain! Ferry to Bilbao. Spanish drivers are very aware and very tolerant with regard to motor cycles. Roads are in brilliant condition, and not busy.
Just discovered and subbed your channel Donny Dave. I nearly wet myself in the opening scene. I was trying to figure out where you were but when you said the Woolwich ferry it pushed me over the edge. Nearly spat my coffee out 😂
I’ve a little bit of experience with European solo travelling after two trips I’ve done this year to the riviera and last year to the Pyrenees. Have a look and sub if you wanted 😉
Well done for getting out and doing this one on your own. Nothing to it once you do and well worth doing. I love my solo trips 👌🏻
Nice film, lots of places I recognise. I often tour solo and i take my Ipod with me to watch videos in the evening as I've never found anything worthwhile watching on TV. Some hotels even have smart TV's so you can cast Youtube onto the big screen. I tend to try and book a hotel within walking distance of a bar so at least i can it and people watch.. Ride Safe mate.
My long tour stops are always a minimum 2 days. This allows me to relax, hopefully meet others and have a good look around. I could just do 100-300 kms between each stop through the back roads. Enjoy yourself.
Very nice video indeed. I've been there in May this year and I recognize a lot of what I'm seeing. I suggest you stop whenever it is mandatory by traffic sign. French police is quite serious about this.
I try to avoid motorways when riding my bike, I'd rather trailer the bike with my campervan if I need to cover big miles, saves on camping in a tent, or B&B's / Hotels etc...
