Except for the first song, all the others are from the movie, which happens after the series is "over", that's why it's mostly about Spinel, she's the main antagonist of the movie. While the first song is from season 1 of the show.

Other Steven Universe songs that would be interesting for you to check out:
-It's Over Isn't It
-We Are The Crystal Gems (Full song version)
-Something Entirely New
-For Just One Day Let's Only Think About Love
-Here Comes A Thought
-What's The Use of Feeling (Blue)?
-That Distant Shore

congrats you have been hit by essence of steven universe you will now think of these songs for 300 million years

Spinel had the most reasonable crashout in the whole series.

8:20

Spoiler:
It's so funny seeing someone react to the gems being poofed without the context of knowing they're okay 😭

the "cuphead" style is called rubberhose animation, it was popular in the 1920's to 30's

[singing]: "This is Garnet, back together."
"From what I remember I think her name is Garnet."

16:11 yes zack callison stayed the voice of steven through the series, we heard him mature as we watched steven grow and it is wild to hear the difference

All the of those spinel songs are from the movie. The movie is a musical and that movie is when spinel is actually introduced as a character and her whole story and shown throughout  the movie. We do see her occasionally in a gew episodes that came out after the movie but she was mostly a minor character after the movie

It's Over Isn't It and Here Comes A Thought are musts from this show!

A quick explanation for why Spinel is so rubber hose animated: all gems can shapeshift to some degree, but she was specifically designed to change on a whim. She was meant to be a playmate, so came equipped with the ability to become any form that would help with any kind of game.

Aw, they cut off the next line after that last song. After that, Spinel says "You can't fix everything by singing some stupid song!" and then slams him back down to the ground

Im so happy that you reacted to some Steven Universe stuff! If you are interested in listening to more Steven Universe songs then I would recommend these:

-What’s the Use of Feeling Blue
-Do It For Her
-It’s Over Isn’t It
-That Distant Shore

The show in general is not really a musical. It just has a few random musical sequences throughout its running. But the SU movie with spinel is a full-blown musical. It probably has as many actual musical sequences in the movie as the rest of the show has combined (not counting random moments when Steven plays a little ukulele song). It’s close at least

Spinel is my personal favorite character, her voice is so beautiful.

Garnet is voiced by Estelle who is a professional singer.

Adventure time song were actually made by the creator of Steven Universe

8:11 she was abandoned for literally  thousands if years all alone

Yes adventure time songs can also have a lot of depth to them, infact after a few seasons adventure time really gets in deep to their characters

the music of SU is top-notch. not enough gets said about the incidental bgm work done by Aivi and Surasshu. their primary skills are in blended piano and chiptune pieces, but for this series, they gave every cast member an audible 'presence' by assigning an instrument or pallete of instruments to them and motifs that suit the character, which evolve as we learn more about them. 8-bit chiptunes and Ukelele for Steven, deep synth bass for Garnet, funky electric drum kit for Amethyst, and classical/swing Piano for Pearl.

it's a really great show. there's nothing else like it out there, it's a show that feels like a warm hug after a particularly bad cry
