Without spoiling, the show is about peace and love.

So the characters that don't seem human are called Gems and essentially, they're aliens which kinda explains the powers. Steven is a Hybrid. His mother was Rose Quartz/[REDACTED], who is a gem. His father is Greg Universe who is human. Does Steven have powers? Yes. Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst are his mother figures and those who teach him how to control his powers. Everyone else is Steven's friends who are either gems or humans.😃👍

"Wow, I sure learned a lot about staying true to myself, unconventional family structures, and never to commit galactic genocide."

steven's main power is talk no jitsu

steven's power, is the power of the special.

just kidding, it's the power of the steven speech.

Gay space rocks

Watch them, it's great, you'll be traumatised in the best way possible

The show is about a group of magical otherworldly gem people who protect the Earth. Steven's a friendly, compassionate kid with a human dad and gem mom, his mom sorta died having him and he's being raised by his dad and his mom's gem friends, he goes on adventures with the latter. Goes from monster of the week where neither Steven nor the audience know much about what's up to being more of a complex plot driven series, has much crying and singing and trying to talk conflict out. The most iconic song is about love being stronger than hate and so is a lot of the plot

"What's Steven's power?" He has more than one, they tend to be defense oriented stuff like shields

The basic plot is alien terrorists distract themselves from their crippling depression by taking their dead leader's half-human child on pest control missions.

It starts off casual but the character arcs go insanely hard.
