Returning to the PS3 era is very therapeutic in these noisy times

I bought a PS3 again about 4 months ago. Just because I missed some of the old classics that I can't play on PS5.

I got my fat PS3 for $20 because the owner said the fan sounded like an airplane turbine. I found some videos on YT that showed how to
Re-apply the CPU thermal paste. It worked and the noise stopped. That was more than 6 years ago and it has been running it without issues since <knock on wood>. 😅

You need to play God of War III - absolutely epic!

if a company is adding a 5 year warranty thats telling me they never cleaned it out or refurbished it. sold it as is and probably spent less than 5 minutes testing it.

I love the ps3. I’ve been collecting for a few years and have around 750 games. Monthly I buy about 10 games depending on price. Recent purchases were Godzilla and blades of Time while they were still available at an expensive but not crazy price. I’m not going for a full set then I find I’m buying Barbie puppy rescue.😂

The PlayStation 2 was the first online Sony console btw, You just needed to buy the network adapter for the OG PS2 or just plug in a Ethernet cable in the back of the slim PS2.

The clear game cases with colored Playstation logo is better than we have now!

Infamous, Resistance, Killzone.. Man I might have to dig my ps5 out 😂

And If you've not played Binary Domain, that's a hidden gem for sure. In for a treat.

You need to play the whole god of war collection on ps3. There’s god of war 3, ascension, 1 and 2 in the collection which is about £30 and the collection volume 2 which is quite expensive around £70 because it’s rare. That one has the psp games ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus!

Ahhhhhhh Motor Storm, I really enjoyed that one. I think it came with my PS3 and it was the first game I ever played on it.

Split second velocity and Blur are great arcade racers. So varied titles castlevania, puppeteer and folklore.

Still actively collect for the PS3, and currently have around 800 + games in my collection, so many good games and so cheap.
Some recommendations : go for the HD Classics sub set, RPG's are in their hundreds, also Puppeteer, 3d Dot game heroes, Batman: Arkham Asylum / City , Motorstorm Pacific Rift / Apocalypse , Lollipop Chainsaw,

Man, I remember the PS3 release. Months leading up I would trade things in for credit to my blockbuster account, and by the time it released I got it day 1 using store credit. Those were the days.
