You missed one major positive of the PS3. Jailbreaking it with custom firmware or Hen. This will allow you to take your disc collection and store them on the internal hard drive or store them on an external USB NTFS hard drive. This saves wear and tear on your drive and the games run faster in terms of loading. Other positive via homebrew include being able to move your saves, trophies etc to any ps3 via the apollo save tool. There are also custom menu apps that let you view your PS3 collection via a more modern menu interface. Multiman includes a full file manager so you can download patches from the net via a PC, copy them to your PS3 via usb drive and install them one at a time. I own three PS3s and jailbreaking has always been a great tool to enjoy more benefits of the hardware and software.

I also hate how everything is digital nowdays.

Just bought a ps3 slim and Xbox 360 slim because this was my fav gen of console gaming

I bought a ps3 this past weekend, paid 20 bucks. I’ve missed having a ps3

anyone else love the ps3 themes and os.

PS3 was Sonys best console.
PS3 slim doesn’t play PS2 games but it will play PS1 games.
You need a fat PS3 to play PS2 games.
I still play in my PS3 slim today.
Burnout Paradise is my favourite game.

PS3 is such a great console. Get in now because consoles and games, especially new games are getting super expensive.

Yh it’s crazy how long the ps3 controller last

my 10 year old superslim still going strong modded hfw hen 250gb ssd never given up on her

I was lucky enough tp grab a launch console with the 4 USB slot which plays PS2 games for about $60. They have gone up in price for sure

Got one from Ebay, for around $70, it was a steal. It arrived today! Happy to own a PS3 again. <3

Love mine, just got it off marketplace for $20. Got 40 games for it. Still has all the streaming apps, YouTube, psn. Pretty sick

I am thinking of selling my PS5 Pro and buy a good used PS3 Slim. I hate how the game industry is leaning nowdays, the prices of the games is one and also in my opinion games in the past were more fun.

I bought the god of war legacy bundle ps3 brand new 2 weeks ago love it

Vintet is the best in old consoles and games hunting.

I got my Tales of Xillia ps3 slim in 2024 and love it.

With how gaming is going, I'm now back on my old P3 slim and collecting. The prices are escalating too. Just bought Transformers Fall of Cybertron & War for Cybertron.  P3 such a great console

Over the last year i have bought almost 200 physical PS3 games. Its my fave console gen that and the 360. Despite having a jailbroken PS3,  jailbroken PS4 and a Jtag 360 i still want to collect for that console because its my favorite.

My PS4 i own 17 physical games.

My PS5 i own just 3 physical games

Says alot really.

If someone ever going to install Gran Turismo 5 or 6. Start updating, after 3 or 4 files (i used to keep around 3gb per pack) stop the update. Turn off your internet connection on ps3, start the game, let file pack to install. Quit game, turn connection back on, and keep downloading and installing them. If you go all by one time, there is huge risk you will stuck in a installation loop and start all over again. If You already failed, delete any gran turismo files from your console and try what i wrote above.

Motorstorm is a great time definitely needs to come back, only arcede racer coming is the new star wars one we used to be spoiled for choice, between motorstorm, wipeout, burnout, the driver games and midnight club the ps2 and ps3 era is still the best you just need the uncharted games and your set for a great year
