The best part of the movie is seeing Rachel Weisz as Evy go from a bookish damsel in distress in the first movie to a drop dead gorgeous, absolute badass in this movie.

I mean how can you not have a massive crush on her?!?!

@duanelavely5481 2 years ago

Rachel Weisz & Patricia Velasquez trained & rehearsed for months to perform the Nefertiri - Anck-Su- Namun original fight seen at Court without using stunt-women.

Kristen seeing Ardeth come on screen. "THERE HE IS!! THERE'S THE FATHER OF MY 8 KIDS!!"

55:14 Agree with Kristen. You are hating Imhotep throughout the two movies but also loving their love story. But then you see a look of complete heartbreak on his face when he realises that it was all for nothing. Especially when he sees the manifestation of true love in Rick and Evie. Such a well done scene.

This is the perfect equally competent male/female pair up. They rescue each other and neither is diminished to make the other one shine something Hollywood couldn’t get right before or since

14:52 I love how Brendan Fraser can play both a great dad and an action hero in the same movie 😃

If you didn't notice when Evelyn fell off the boat , that's what happened to her in the past life as well.
Nefertiri inadvertently leaned too far over the edge of the balcony and fell to her death. Despite having perished, Nefertiri's soul was cast adrift into the currents of time to be reborn once fate deemed the time right to revenge herself upon Anck-Su-Namun. This is why Evelyn is a reincarnation.

Jonathan’s character is underrated, he is a sharpshooter and WW1 Veteran and he comes across as a coward but he’s not. He’s just a fast talking swindler! I can’t remember if it was Dark Horse or Top Cow comics did a comic on his early adventures. 😎

@corinna007 2 years ago

In the first movie, Evie told Rick "My mother was Egyptian", making her and Jonathan half Egyptian, so the reincarnation thing isn't as farfetched as it may seem, in terms of bloodline. Also, Rick was a soldier, and he was also wearing a leather wristband on the same wrist as the tattoo, so it's entirely possible that he had the tattoo then as well, but kept it covered. And in the first movie he also has a tattoo on that hand, but for some reason it's not shown in the sequel.

Rick is literally cleaning up his Wife and Son's near Apocalyptic messes in this franchise.

The fight between Eevee and anaksunamun is honestly my favorite part of this whole movie it's so badass❤

51:46 Even those of us who saw this when it came out thought the Scorpion-Rock CGI was awful.

@Kdwhitt 2 years ago

The whole time Imhotep kept saying their love was a true, powerful love but it was a selfish one. In the end Rick told Eve not to come help him because he would rather die than have her risk herself and she would rather risk herself than let him die. By contrast, Imhotep asked Ankhesenamun to risk herself to save him (selfish) and she wouldn’t (selfish). They’re love was not true and when he saw Rick and Eve he knew it.

@valleyofdust 2 years ago

This I believe was The Rock's first ever movie role. The one that led to the Scorpion King movie and his introduction into Hollywood.

@elyjoseputignano9701 2 years ago

Nothing hurts more than Anck su Namun's betrayal of Imhotep. You see how that man gives himself up to death because he lost his love for her.

@Shania2016-L 2 years ago (edited)

I will say something I didn’t realize until I was older, they did a great job at showing selfish love vs selfless love Evy was willing to die AGAIN if it meant saving the man she loved vs Anck-Su-Namun saving herself, and Rick telling Evy to run vs imhotep begging to be saved.

@psychokitty71 2 years ago

Rick was always wearing the leather band that their son took off in the first movie, so he could have easily had the mark and we never saw it. It makes me wonder if the sequel was already planned when they filmed the first movie.

@neilbiggs1353 2 years ago

I find John Hannah is a bit of an underrated component of these films - He switches from comic relief to dramatic effortlessly which really makes the scenes around Evie's death work. You should check him out in Sliding Doors and Four Weddings And A Funeral, he is phenomenal in those

Fun Fact: During the shooting of The Scorpion King battle scenes, Dwayne Johnson caught a heatstroke and food poisoning in the middle of the shoot. So everyone who is currently working on the movie asked if Dwayne could take it easy. But Dwayne still powered through shooting despite his illness and thus this movie made him a legendary superstar.
