That "jalopy" has a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.

"To Live and Die in LA" had the best car chase of the 1980's

"No Man's Land" (1987) - Charlie Sheen and DB Sweeney are car thieves, more specifically Porsche thieves. The chase scene with the 911 Turbo and the rival car thieves is epic.

The time travel in Back to the Future was more realistic than the Libyan's AK-47 jamming.

“No Man’s Land” deserved to be in this list. Also “Innerspace” and “The Wraith”, which is full of great car chases.

I'm so glad that you included "To Live and Die in L.A." I loved that chase scene.

The driver in The Junkman was the same person who drove the Mustang in Gone in 60 Seconds - Toby Halicki, who was also the producer and director of both films and drove all of his own stunts and starred in both films.

The chase from Short Time was freaking amazing

Finally Live And Die In LA gets on one of these lists!
1st time I saw it was half way through the chase on tv so I rented the VHS to watch the whole movie

@StartWars89 8 years ago

The Hidden from 1987 should be on this list. Features a great opening chase with a Ferrari 308 GTS.
