Carlos Prates: The Necessary Anti-Hero Documentary

Full Violence ™

Carlos Prates isn’t the polished hero Brazil usually celebrates. He’s the necessary anti-hero. Born in Taubaté, São Paulo, Carlos avoided the street life through fighting, but he never turned his back on where he came from. Tattooed, brash, unapologetic, living fast. He smokes, he parties, he does things his own way, and somehow still shows up sharper, tougher, and more locked in than ever before.

This documentary dives into the real Carlos, the fighter who breaks every rule except the one that matters: perform when the lights hit. From the chaos of his lifestyle to the discipline beneath it, this is the story of a man Brazil didn’t ask for but absolutely needs. A Necessary Anti Hero.

A production in collaboration with Quinestesia.docs from Brazil.

carlos will always be a hero to me , when my mom was going through her chemo and radiation we were spending allot more time together , i knew she wasn’t super interested in ufc but knew i liked it so she watched it with me . i told her how much i loved the fighting nerds and she even came to chicago to meet some fighters . we both loved carlos and when he hit that spinning elbow my mom almost flew out of her chair . she’s his biggest fan now and is routing for him 🎉🎉 ❤❤❤❤

Prates is an example that you can still have fun and be a great fighter!

Wonderful how a man can go from struggling, to getting an amazing KO in an arena filled of fans in MSG. Inspiring.

It’s incredible and surprising how he got to where he is today from nothing, against all odds, and is now ready to fight one of the most important fights of his career in front of millions of people, inspiring.

Seeing the translations and the depth of how he talks in Portuguese really gives insight into Carlos more than what we're used to at press conferences.
Dude is so fucking chill, but has a really balanced outlook of the world, really refreshing.

“Going against the odds” put it on a shirt! Along with “I don’t think I’m an example and I don’t think I have to be” 🔥
But clearly he is an example of persevering!

Ever since he came off the contender series, he always stood out to me. My second favorite nerd is Caio but prates is hands down my favorite. This dude can win that belt I know he can.

Not a fan of the fighting nerds, in particular the arrogance and boasting of Silva...but Carlos is such a good man, humble, sincere and totally authentic. ❤

This is a really well shot production🔥. It's inspiring to hear where carlos came from & from the work he put in to now fighting a former ufc champion. The sky is the limit for the nerds. Many blessings 🙌🏼 💚

What surprises me about his career is how he’s been going against all odds since as a kid

Gives you chills. People brought up in the toughest of situations seeing crazy stuff every day. These people end up becoming incredibly dangerous themselves but for all of the right reasons. In pursuit to be a contender and the ambition for gold.

We are in a unique era.
