If Phantom Hourglass has one fan, I'm that fan. If Phantom Hourglass has no fans, I'm dead and all that

Spirit Tracks has some of the best music of any Zelda game and the best iteration of Princess Zelda yet. The actual gameplay leaves quite a bit to be desired, but the game will always have a very special place in my heart.

what i love about Spirit Tracks is almost everyone thats a big character has there name based off something related to a train

“Ah I’m sorry to hear about your brother…he gets five big booms”

All I could think about when the bridge guy said boom

I’d say Echoes of Wisdom has the spirit of these handheld games, complete with a unique protagonist

I actually think the transportation in the DS games was super fun, never got tired of drawing a line to travel by ship or react to things in the train

So...given the context of the Tingle games, what are the odds that Tingle is literally just some dude who got Isekai'd into the mainline Zelda games just as he did with his games? He just ends up in Termina or flooded Hyrule and rolls with it.

"People yearned for Sonic R more than this game."
CAN YOU FEEL THE SUNSHIIIIINE

The world of The Legend of Zelda on handheld game consoles feel like a completely different and unique side of the series, and now with the ability to provide Mainline releases at the palm of your hands (aka, the Nintendo Switch), who knows when we would get more niche/unique entries in the near future.

Link between worlds is just my favorite Zelda game ever honestly

50:40. Another example would be  Yokai-watch 2:  Bony spirits, fleshy souls, and Psychic specters.

Only bony and fleshy released on the same day and I think specters is a localized version of the og release with the added feature of downloading content into the other two versions.

phantom hourglass... one of the most underrated Zelda games

i think he's playing zelda hand held games fr fr

God minish cap is one of the best looking gba games and I'll die on that hill!

I’ve literally started a playthrough of minish cap a few days ago. Didn’t realize how important the kinstone were and why I couldn’t progress when I played ages ago.

I think it’s interesting that I actually love the Temple of the Ocean King for similar reasons to why you hate it. I love the concept of a dungeon you have to return to intermittently and slowly make progress throughout the course of a game’s story. The dungeon being a stealth segment on a timer helped make it intense and always kept me on edge while also being a unique gameplay switch-up to the rest of the game. The puzzles were pretty interesting the first go-around and subsequent visits to the Temple let you use your newly acquired items to make shortcuts to get through the temple faster (something you for some reason neglected to mention). You can even get the last two ocean charts in one go if you want to challenge yourself and feel you have enough time remaining.

I never got the hate for this place. Then again, I never get the hate for forced stealth sections in video games in general, as someone who finds stealth gameplay really engaging.

I wish all of these could be remastered to switch 2! I’d love to play spirit tracks and others again

Four Swords Anniversary was my first Zelda game precisely because it was free. I wouldn’t mind seeing it remade again, perhaps bundled with a new 2D Zelda. Anyways, I had the most fun with Link Between Worlds.

8:34 I do wonder why Nintendo had the Famicom/NES along with the Game Boy line only have A and B for face buttons. Like it’s odd that they waited until the DS to add the X and Y buttons to a handheld system.

Anyways, the sidescrolling sections of Links Awakening showed how they could possibly do another game in the vein of Zelda 2.

Also imagine if we got to return to Subcon in a future 2D Mario game and the special world was actually Koholint Island itself.

0:37 I still wish that they made an original 3D Mario for the DS

The sad part about this compilation is that it might be a loooooong time before this video is outdated.

Now let's see a FULL ON Handheld Games Video Compilations.
