I'm trying to reach 20k subs by the end of the year so if you enjoyed, subscribing and liking would really be appreciated :)

I recently saw a take on OoT's Hyrule Field that made me rethink the emptiness.

Hyrule Field is a road, not a destination, and that's intentional. It's space to breathe between tasks, space to anticipate what's next. Hyrule Field actually does what it's meant to do really well, and it's a pretty big part of the game's broader vibe.

5:06 specifically, you can only fast travel in the light world. In the dark world, not only are you going everywhere on foot, but some areas are blocked off, forcing you to travel back to the light world, and then travel back to the Dark World when you get to the right location!

It's so weird that they added the out of place popping eye in the bosses of majora's mask 3ds because my first 3d zelda was majora and I played it in my phone, it isn't that hard to hit them though

So, I've noticed that modern Zelda players moving to Link to the Past for the first time, tend to skip picking up the Moon Pearl, cause they avoid falling, and you don't need the pearl to beat the dungeon. Then they clear to the Dark World, and find they're stuck until they backtrack to Tower of Hera. I feel a more modern design of that dungeon would have a portion where you have to travel to the dark world and need the pearl to progress in order to get to the top of the tower.

18:10 I just used the internet to look at where the shards were I never even bothered with the charts

I was thinking about how games like Split Fiction and Orbitals only requires one person to get a copy of the game. Perhaps the next Four Swords-style game can go that route with GameShare.

I actually just finished my first playthough of Zelda II and before that I hadn't played since I was 8. I hated it then but now that I'm older I actually really liked the progression and that I felt stronger. I did hate the XP and respawn point resetting when you game over though. That is basically the only thing I'd change.

The biggest problem with Oracle of Ages is the Goron Dance, hands down. The Subrosian Dance in seasons is just a simple pattern game with no strict rhythm requirements, but the Goron Dance is much stricter on rhythm... something I seriously lack. I only ever managed to beat Ages on Switch because of rewind and save states, because I just cannot do it on actual hardware.

Cool video unc

Nice video! The audio cut-ins like (like 1:20) are jarring and feel like editing mistakes

“A lot of people see TOTC as DLC”
Yeah, it’s because nobody knows what a sequel is anymore.

My biggest problem with majora’s mask was those stupid fairies in the temples. I absolutely hated that.

4:43 Zelda 2's biggest flaw has to be that you can only use 1 ups once

@leviwarren6222 19 hours ago (edited)

I'm expecting a separate video on everything wrong with Tri-Firce Heroes.

Edit: 15:45 That would be a Game Boy Advance Link cable for the GameCube. The Game Boy Advance to Game Boy Advance link cables were kind of wacky looking. I'll always recommend trying four Swords Adventures on the GameCube with four players because it's an absolute blast.

@ninmarbob 21 hours ago

You should do one on the spin-offs.

@calebgurney762 15 hours ago

The biggest problem with twilight princess is not the slow start. It’s a near perfect game when playing on GameCube or Wii U, the biggest flaw is playing the Wii version where the combat is a lot more sluggish

@josepbuigues1336 11 hours ago

I would love it if The Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed The Legend of Zelda Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures and Tri Force Heroes or how I like to call them The Multiplayer Triforce.

@6:43 which is why I prefer the switch remake.

It's not that the old one doesn't have charm. It's just the item slot issues for links awakening on gameboy is backwards.

When you have to have the sword and shield (literally links offense and defense) set to a item slot instead of being able to use them regardless, that's problematic.

The switch remaster doesn't do that. You can have items equipped and still use your sword and shield.
