we want games with bigger rosters but we also want sprite games back... i don't think people realize how difficult it is to have both in 2026. There's a reason Skullgirls launched with 8 characters.

some dudes really get by having an unimpressed sounding deep voice, when in doubt just read the script in whiny nerd voice and see if the arguments still sound reasonable

Fella built entire universe inside hes head just to hate it.

This video legit just feels like a die hard melee player larping about an era of fighting games they werent apart of

"They aren't selling better" said with strive footage, a game that has outsold previous entries by a factor x 25 iirc?

He should run as a comedian, this is hilarious

These young kids will never understand how good 1XKO was

"Man I miss the days when we could ridicule people in public for USING THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME and force them to leave their social circles and hobbies"

I think honestly people just develop clinical depression and then act like the way they feel is caused by video games/anime/hobbies rather than being a more fundamental underlying dissatisfaction with their lives

Daigo being a “titan of charisma” is fucking hilarious lmfaoo

People really forgot we used to pay full price for every iteration of a game

"I miss when we used to bully people for playing lame instead of just learning counterplay"
Yeah man, much better times, real healthy scene dawg.

The golden years of fighting games where during the pre historic era in each we used to beat each other with corner combos around the fire

This guys video REALLY STINKS of i lived "the glory days of fighting games" through stories my favourite content creators told but i was never actually part of the community back then nor did i ever play or experience these games.

Lmao when he just started hating on the jigglypuff guy as a completely serious argument in favour of "old fighting games"

"Oh no, because of rollback netcode, now everyone can play competitively, not just those people who have an arcade 5 minutes down the street!"

"all media (including fighting games which i randomly chose to make this video on) made since 2004 is bad because in 2004 i was 12 years old and everything was perfect"

All I heard was "waah my game isn't popular."

Bro, I play touhou 12.3, I literally DO NOT wanna hear it.

8:24 "even if they dont have the resources to do so" KOF XIII BANKRUPTED SNK, THATS WHY XIV LOOKS LIKE THAT, 3D GAMES ARE CHEAPER TO MAKE

People really do forget that the arcade experience wasn't always what its cracked up to be. Having to pay every single time just to play for 2 to 5 minutes, having to wait for some other fat ass to get off the machine, having said fat ass breathe down your neck while he waits for his turn, having to get off everytime to share, as opposed to paying one time to play when ever you want without ever having to share with the bonus of an actual training mode and in game tutorials.

We love to point to Melee as a an example of a game to be good without balance patches and ignore the fact that like half of the roster is not viable and act like it's a good thing that it took 20 years for people to develop tech to allow some of the low-mid tiers to compete.
