Today's episode was recorded before I saw Mel Gibson's appearance on JRE. My colleague Joe Heschmeyer will address Gibson's claims about the Church on Tuesday on his channel Shameless Popery and I'll compare his and Huff's approaches to defending the Resurrection on Wednesday on COT. If you saw both, how would you compare and contrast their approaches?

Reformed Protestant here and big fan of Wes for years. Trent, I appreciate this video. Your speech was so kind, gracious, pleasant and seasoned with salt. Also love that you recommended Gavin's stuff. Anyway, this was an awesome video.

Thanks for not bashing or nitpicking Wes but adding actual good points and refuting opinions.

It's also refreshing to hear a Catholic calls protestant "actual Christian." We have come a long way.

I'm Catholic but have attended Protestant services as a caretaker of a wheelchair-bound friend at a non-denominational Protestant church. What I appreciate about Protestants is their engagement in the local church community, biblical literacy, and a sense of ownership in the church itself. What I appreciate about being a Catholic is our deep reverence at church and Mass, saying prayers in unison, and the universality and connections with other Catholics worldwide.

Grateful for you, Trent, as a protestant brother. This was an encouraging video for all of Christendom.

Wes had some bumps sure but this was the first time an articulate case for Jesus was made on maybe the largest media platform on the internet. Love it!

I’m a Protestant, but this was a great supplement to Huff’s original discussion. I really wish Wes had also made some of the points made in this video, but I still think Wes did a great job considering it was a completely  unscripted three-hour discussion.

May God continue to bless the scholars that devote so much time educating the common man. Trent I rely on you so much to teach the faith of our Fathers.

You need to go on his show

I'm Catholic. I've been a long time Joe Rogan watcher, and I've followed Jordan Peterson's story since he first hit the national scene. Here's the thing you need to understand for full context. There was a serious strain of atheisim in the "bro-sphere" for quite some time. Totally nurtured by the "new atheists" trend setters. This was a very sad and discouraging thing to witness. This audience (lack of a better word) was/is brimming with young men, with lots of energy, who were frustrated with moral corruption and intent on doing good. Joe has softened up considerably toward guests that have shared their faith with him, to his credit. To my knowledge, this is the first time an actual apologist with a scholarly background has ever appeared on his show.  In the old days, this would've felt like something that would never happen. But it did. So I guess, here's the point I'm trying to articulate: Yes, Joe has a huge audience. But that is not the big deal here. The big deal is WHO his audience is.  For Wes to go on there is a major breakthrough. I feel the way he conducted himself could leave the door open for more of the same. I watched the whole episode he was on. I know there are differences between Protestants and Catholics. I was not offended by anything he said. In fact, quite the opposite. This is a great thing. Thank you, Trent, for doing this video!

He sat for three hours  in a unscripred "debate", much respect to Wes

Here after watching Wes's 3 hours of unscripted conversation on the Joe Rogan Experience!!!
Christ is King !!!

My heart is warmed to hear Trent recommending Protestant books, and hopefully vice versa

The new studio is awesome, Trent! Your videos are an inspiration to many young Catholics looking to spread the truth of Jesus and the Catholic Church.

Growing up Catholic i was deeply submerged in secular thinking, even within teachers and students at Catholic school. For me as a Catholic, apologetics has always centered on addressing atheism and agnosticim primarily.

Trent, you get better each year. You make what you do look effortless!

Trent, your tone and cordiality is refreshing thank you for your charity.

"I'm not a fan of Catholics also sitting back while Protestants do all the heavy lifting". Yeah I've been reflecting on this recently too. Most Christians who I see defending Christ's existence and resurrection - on social media and on the streets - are protestants. Perhaps they make themselves more available for public preaching - and we should too!

Any chance you'll address some of the false claims that Mel Gibson made about the Catholic Church on his Joe Rogan appearance?

Catholic, Protestant, Eastern Orthodox… we are all brothers/sisters in Christ
