I’ve owned and sold plenty of these Cayenne’s and generally, they are damn reliable and despite what most people would think, the parts are actually very cheap. Probably cheaper than most other brands.

Engines that have mostly run on LPG usually have clean internals. LPG doesn't discolour the oil like petrol does. They can have had poor oil change intervals without showing the usual signs. I've just bought a neglected V6 camry on LPG. The oil is very clean.

Love this. I bought my old Cayenne in similar circumstances. Fantastic cars. Nice and simple to work on as well. The 3.2L is still very capable off road.

I love how it really sounds like the r32 and a manual to top it all off. Good stuff. I bet it's nowhere as nice with the ancient slushy automatic.

I have one now --- my third (bought one new in 06 -- CS)   They have a list of problems and you figure out what has been done or not done and just fix it. The problem is when you don't know what you are doing and have to go to the dealer -- you have to be able to use a wrench and a scanner.

Example: The early cars had transfer case motors that gummed up because most people never moved the transfer case into low or locked. The later 955's were better when they changed manufacturers.  If you have air suspension you can reach under the car and unbolt it in about 5 min.  Many times all you have to do is take it apart and clean it. The real part can be had for about $400 --   almost $2k though Porsche. They have aftermarket for $125.  When the motor sticks all manner of problems can occur -- systems turn off and the dash is a Christmas tree.  I bought the OEM for $400 and it was the end of the problem -- because I knew about it and I had the early motor manufacturer.  So -- $400 or $3000 at the dealer after telling you the problem and labor to install.  Or maybe even free if you have a later one.
