Gal’s right - the knights were down to 12 players for most of the game and still won. They deserved that win.

If the roosters stick to their game and be as clinical as the match against the fins 🤔 they will be hard to beat.

Penrith looked shell shocked after the Cleary injury. I don’t blame the Newcastle player for what happened. The constant rule tampering by the NRL to speed up the game has led directly to the situation the game is in now wirh the hip drop injuries.

Asa Sydneysider who's loved Newcastle ever since my childhood, I wish I could have been up in Newcastle for the march to the M1.

Let’s hope there is NO dubious calls from the ref and the bunker ….

Neutral fan.
May the best team win 🏆

Have walked that bridge (1993) know what's like there now with the nrl celebration walk is unpredictable.

You could give every player who performs a hip drop an automatic send off and season suspension and you still won’t get it out of the game. No player intentionally does it, they all know they can’t do it, but it continues to happen. If you’ve been beaten and lost front on contact your brain is only thinking of one thing “make the tackle” and the only way to make it if you’ve been beaten is from behind, which is always going to put you on the legs of the player that’s infront of you. There’s no way it will ever be eradicated. This is all happening in a split second, at high speed, at high intensity. You don’t have time to think you’re just reacting. I honestly don’t know how they stop it. You can suspend players for as long as you want. It won’t change anything.

Gal on the money as usual. I agree!

Shane Weibke described the hip drop tackle. Its a lazy tackle. You come in and grab an attacker that you did not hit hard in the first instance. Gillmeister said, If you hit hard and polaxe the attacker, you don't need other defenders to grab and lose their legs. Hit hard and pummel the attacker., that's what we want to see in NRL in 2027.
Kaylen Ponga showed us against a front rower. No hip droppers there.

The best win in rugby league history ? Man, take a look after you said that. Even when I played in the Juniors, our centre's high tackle send off after 5 minutes. This is weekend club football, Toongabbie vs Two Blues Cabramatta, the toughest you get for under 16 year olds. 12 boys Cabra against 13 Toons prevailed 7-5.

who remembers the grand final footy show

Robbo looking like Rooster everyday

With the shorter turnaround, the Knights don't stand a chance.

36:02 Gus should've allowed Teddy to finish talking 🤦‍♂️

Good to see two different teams going to GF 😂

I agree with Gal. Shouldn’t have been a send off and Newcastle were down to 12 men and still beat a 13 man Penrith side

21:23 - Cam Smith - Is arguably the GOAT of all Time - He needs to stop holding back , in his commentating style . Hes so reserved/careful what he says . Be more like Paul Gallen and let rip man - tell us what your thinking.

Newcastle was 8 out of 10 and Penrith was a 3 of 10.....penrith looked like they were a bunch of 10yolds when Cleary went off

I'm still convinced no-one knows what a hip drop is. It's just a tackle? Worked fine for 100 years.
