Phase 1 of suggestions: idiocy
Phase 2: well-designed incorrect
Phase 3: experimental
Phase 4: the most batshit insane construction

My dad studied engineering in college, but eventually became a philosophy professor. A story he likes to tell is about an engineering class he was in where he and most of the other students goofed off. The professor was irritated and said, “if you make a mistake in here, it’s okay, but you make a mistake out there, your bridge collapses!”

"and this is is what the world is missing out on and i feel that they weep every night because they know they can never experience my full magnificence and i know this and i too cry at night knowing that the world is deprived of my genius, i know this.."

I come back to this video a couple times a year, leaving enough time in between rewatches to forget about the funny bits, just to cry laugh

I feel like Marks reactions are those of every structural engineering teacher looking at new students' first project. Things like "you skipped the tutorial" = "you didn't look at the book" or "it hurts my brain" = "It hurts my brain".

This is probably what it’d be like to have Mark as a high school engineering teacher

Alternate title: Mark has a mental breakdown because people can't make bridges

21:54 I love this design so much because it's such a disappointment and a plot twist, like you expect the dome to come down but you don't expect the bridge to have a missing part

this video has the energy of a tired dad trying and failing to help his children with homework

The character willingly driving off cliffs: MY GOALS ARE BEYOND YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

31:08 One of my favorite things to think about in this video is that this was during a livestream so he just screamed "LIXIAN NOOOOO" and then just had to act like nothing happened

Mark in here: "Damn I'm a genius"
Mark in Minecraft videos: "I'm starting to believe I might be an idiot"

Mark Big Brain: I could have been an engineer, I know this, the world is deprived of my genius, I’m sorry

second van fails to cross bridge and make it to its checkpoint
