Why would Ukraine believe any Russian agreement to uphold the terms of any treaty that they signed? They have a long history of breaking treaties, and war crimes

It is easy to lie to Putin. He wants to be lied to. The truth is scaring him shitless.

... really interesting interview. One point of 'correction'. Russian losses in WW2 were not 27m .... that was Soviet losses. Of which Russia SSR was 14m (13% popltn) Ukraine SSR was 6.9m (16% popltn) and Beylorus was 3m (25% popltn). Being picky but regularly hear the 27m was Russia losses. Btw ... Ukraine had 'lost' another circa 4 to 5m in the Stalin imposed Holodomor in the 1930's.

Hamish, ‘not a democracy as we know it.’ Really? That massively understates the iron grip Putin has.

The substantial financial burden of maintaining independent nuclear deterrents remains a pressing challenge for both the UK and France. Transitioning these capabilities into a unified European defense framework could allow both nations to reallocate tens of billions annually toward modernizing their conventional military forces.

Amazing to think Putin had Crimea securely in his hands, 'the second best army in the world' (so we thought), & Russia was perceived as an invincible 'Global Superpower'.
He had all that and then came the Feb 24th 2022 & the launch of his SMO. Ouch!

Putin is not interested in a compromise and never was. It's amazing that still after all these years some people still think that Putin can be reasoned with. No. He is all-in. And why on Earth would Russians get back their seized assets? They owe that and more to Ukraine.

Hamish de Bretton Gordon is a lovely name! It appears to be a mixture of Scottish and French decendency? I would like to know more about you one day. You are such an intelligent and interesting person.. You are an absolute pleasure to listen to! Thank you! ❤

Russians always lie
Putin more than happy to be misinformed
That way he can point finger at those who lied to him - then he loses the war
Open door for blame game

They are only paid a lot of money if they get it and they don't get paid!

Ukraine must not take their boot off Putin's throat. His successors need to know that the ONLY route forward is engaging again with modern ideas of democracy and international law.

Keep Trump out of any negotiations, talks should be between Europe NATO and the EU

And how many of the 26 million people that 'Russia' lost in the last war were in fact Russian? They used the same tactics then as now. They sent people from their occupied territories to the slaughter.
