1) For Thruster Pulsing I forgot to turn Thruster Override to zero on the second Event Controller.

Me personally, I have an automated airlock that keeps all the doors turned off when not in use, so I can't run in and open one of them and vent all the air from my farm.
You have to press a button, that turns turns on the opposite door and closes it, and then turns it off again. Then it turns on the door on your side, opens it, and turns it off again.
And then you can press a second button that does the same thing in reverse. There are a lot of timer blocks involved just to make sure doors are turned off when not in use

When running courier missions in a large grid ship, an automation to announce jump drive recharge complete via audio and broadcast is a life saver.  Or at least a sanity saver.

Airlocks. When one door opens, disable the other door, and reenable when it closes. Prevents you from going through an airlock too quickly and opening both doors at once.

I also like to add a audio alert on enemy detected from a defensive AI.

No. 1:
It is however, fun to feel like a pilot flipping a quadrillion switches before liftoff. And if you build your dock high enough you might calm down from your falling panic and figure out what you forgot and put it on just in time. Or save yourself tedious repair time by annihaliting your ship. Non the löess, I recently started automating the docking procedures on some small craft.

Auto thruster pulsing is great, never knew you could do it with just an event controller. I ended up writing a custom autopilot script for maximizing fuel efficiency.

I add a light to my mining ships that lights up red when my cargo is full.  Stops having to check via the menu.  I also use the turret controller to look at sun, for solar and algae.  Another one is a broadcast of battery levels or ammo amount (if low) on outrigger weapons around the base.  They also give an early warning if they detect anything.

Little tip for automation, you can use the "putting a small hinge head on a large hinge" trick to make a sudo server rack for your event controllers, timers and whatever AI blocks your using, and you can rotate the hinge to use both sides if you want (or have 1 side with the logic blocks, and the other side with LEDs to show system diagnostic)

I automate my ship's airlocks.
I use both Air vent and Event controller.
I have outer and inner door with air vent between.

My logic is simple:
If door O and door I are closed and airlock has air, both are turned on.
If door O is open, air vent turns off door I.
If door I is open, event controller turns off door O.

It's so nice to see lists like this actually show people how to do what the list is saying. I've seen a lot of list's say stuff like "Number 5, Do this!" And they don't explain how to do it, or where to find info on how to do it, or the info is like 7 years old and outdated.

Excellent automation options! The door one is awesome. I used to always use sensors, but this is so much better.

It’s cool to see others having similar ideas, I was worried about running out of ice for farms as well. Did mine a bit different though.

Conveyer sorters going to a mass storage container and my irrigation storage container. Both set to whitelist/drain all for ice. Then I created another conveyor line from the mass storage that feeds back into the main line, with another conveyor sorter turned off natively. Then I set an event controller to turn that sorter on when the irrigation cargo hits 95% of its ice capacity, and turn off the sorter going into the mass storage. So it  pulls ice  from my main storage/O2H2 generators and is constantly topping off my farm storage. This way you can just stockpile masses of ice and let it do its thing!

Another really useful one for me (I like 0 oxygen waste ships) is changing the room's lights to yellow, deactivating door sensors, and closing doors when a room is depressurized and white (or normal room lighting) with the sensors on when pressurized. If you really don't want to lose anything depressurize all your vents except maybe cabin/bridges when entering combat.

A pro tip for automated docking: Have a "Aux Group" that groups all the toggle on/off items like gyros, lights, antennae, beacon, etc.
This will free up event controller pages, AND create a single group to rename, rather than renaming every group when docking identical grids.

I really dig that mining ship!  Good design there.

I used to play on an SE survival MP server with seasonal 3-week PvP, where speed and making large-scale stuff quickly with your team was the main goal

Automating Mining is a very important one for me.

I've got a couple of ways to go about it:
The simple and most effective solution is PAM-Miners. They're prone to misadventure but beyond worth the effort.
There's the SCAM script for carrier + fleet of miners which is cool as hell, but difficult to set up.
I've had a blueprint for a vanilla design that was essentially a non-static mining drill with a bunch of timer and event-blocks, that could be picked up by a ship and dropped ontop of an ore-deposit. It'd mine out things in a large circular area, pause when the cargo got full and work downwards in layers. A transport ship would only have to dock with the top of it, drain it whenever raw ore was required.

Otherwise there is a bunch of stuff like Inventory Management, ISY's Inventory Management and automatically making items in reserve, as well as using "SPECIAL" containers for ammunition so they get auto-filled with whatever they need is very, very important for logistics.

Or automating production of combat ships, which is a massive pain when you're using vanilla welders.
