Bobcat Zero-Turn Wiring Nightmare - Troubleshooting and Fix

A friend picked up this Bobcat Zero-Turn for only $200. His intention was to fix it himself, but the wiring issues were more then he bargained for. The electric PTO does not work, the entire wire harness and safeties bypassed, and the battery is not charging. Before he proceeds with the mechanical repairs he wants to make sure the PTO works and the wiring mess can be sorted out.

I no longer use Harbor Freight Super Heavy Duty Degreaser in my ultrasonic cleaner. Harbor Freight changed the recipe. The bottle previously stated "NON-CORROSIVE". Now it says "CORROSIVE", "do not user on Aluminum". It now damages most carburetors. Recently I have been using Simple Green PRO HD with good results.

You're an angel for working on this, James. Troubleshooting & cleaning up someone else's mistakes through ignorance is not a fun job. I know many people would've given up on this, and sent it to the scrap heap, resigned to purchase a new or better-used unit. Thank you for showing us how to get the job done!

Great video, James! I love troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, so this was a really fun one for me. So glad you went through all the extra work of assuring the safety switches were all present and working. One thing that really makes me cringe is watching someone bypass the safeties because they don’t understand them or can’t be bothered to figure them out. Great job!

I received a 54in Kubota zero turn 2017 same issues but original motor,.. no video to watch,intil now.. but I learned alot from watching all your generator repair videos,you sir are good at your craft, THANK YOU GODBLESS

Retired now. Interesting to watch. I designed the machine and electrical circuits over 30 years ago. The oil pressure switch was NO and the hour meter grounded through it so hours would only accumulate when the engine ran.
