After 6 years with my old work van, it’s finally time for a change… meet my brand-new Kia PV5 electric van!
In this video, we start by stripping the last of the signwriting from my old van and saying goodbye after six years together. Then it’s time to head over and finally collect the new Kia PV5 Cargo EV.
I’ll take you along for my first proper look around the van, my first drive home and my initial thoughts on what it’s actually like to drive.
Once we’re back, I give you a quick walkaround of the PV5 and take a look at some of the things that made me choose it as my next plumbing van — the range, charging, cab, load space, twin sliding doors and just how much room there is in the back.
But this is only the beginning…
Over the next few videos we’ll be transforming the Kia PV5 into a proper working plumbing and heating van — racking out the back, adding the roof rack, getting it fully branded and setting it up ready for everyday life on the tools.
Will going from diesel to a fully electric work van turn out to be the right decision? We’re going to find out in the real world.
Make sure you SUBSCRIBE to Real World Plumbing and follow the whole build, as well as real plumbing jobs, tool reviews, van content and everyday life running a plumbing & heating business.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the new van — would you run an electric van for your trade?
