My first ski holiday was in Borovets in Bulgaria and for a beginner it was perfect and super cheap. There was lots of snow when we were there but that was way back in 2000 but since then the snow has been very hit and miss in Bulgaria so check that before you go.

Looks like you guys had fun in Bansko 😀

I did Borovets about 12 years ago. It was SUPER cheap and we went with some mates that were seasoned Skiers.

I think all in our holiday cost £300 each Flights half board in the Samokov Soviet hotel equipment hire transfers and 5 hours of lessons for 5 days. (Obviously prices are much more now. But it was 100% my gateway into Skiing so its always going to be somewhere I remember fondly. We even had fresh powder for 3 mornings on the bounce! Would I go back...... No but would I recommend first timers to give Bulgaria a go. Hell yes! I now have a young daughter and when Im looking for her 1st ski holiday I may consider it in a few years time!

Loved the video!
