Your optimism and fearlessness when it comes to body damage is amazing. Hearing it today was like Deja Vu from the blue Peugeot diesel. I think the damage and paint etc would have made this a 100% non-starter purchase for me. Good for you though, I love to see you resurrect neglected vehicles.  No wonder they were okay for letting the car go for that price. This would be a great car for a lovely single Mum. Enjoyed this post a lot 😊

Great video and quite the adventure!

That headlight mishap would be enough to drive axnyone nuts… and start them speaking “French” quite vociferously, but Siôn made it seem like an easy fix.

It’s always so impressive to follow Siôn’s impeccable logic as he determines the checklist of things to be done.

Good looking car and better looking than the newer model

Just found your Civic mk9 videos, and as an owner too, I'm looking forward to watching your ownership of these really good cars.
What a steal for the money! Easily another 50-100k life left in it.
The work you've done is very similar to the updating and renewal work I also did on my Civic, just for peace of mind. Look after a car and it'll look after you.

A weekends work there should have it tip top.

I like the design of this car.

I brought a 2014 vauxhall zafira a few weeks ago with MOT still 108k miles just needs discs and pads changing and just needed a good clean apart from that it's absolutely mint

Nice one but I find the 1.8 petrol is only just adequate.the 1.4 must be glacial! Probably outlast the body still though

Both my Giuliettas had those little wire clips to hold the bulbs in, they are a nightmare

They go a lot better out of Economy mode - press the green button to extinguish the green light in the fuel gauge 👍

Owtrol surface restorer is brilliant on faded plastic trim.

Yeahyeahyeah, but why is it in front of a lovely Twingo?

There's a nice car there despite the bodywork. Could you set a budget of 400-500 quid and see how much of it you could get sorted? Mix of driveway dent guys, paint touch-up and a Sion-wielded ratttle can??

None of that damage and dents would result in a write off.  It's basically all cosmetic, and those dents could be pulled out pretty easily with basic tools.  Also, I'm astounded that in 2015, cars were still being produced without parking sensors.  Especially a car as cool as the Civic.  Parking sensors have been common on mid range cars since the late 2000's.  Shocking that they were asking for £2000+ for a Civic with that much damage and missing basic features like parking sensors.  Don't feel like you robbed them with £1600.  That's all it's realistically worth in that condition.

Don't you just love modern headlight design, terrible on most modernish cars

Hello, great video. I currently running a 2014 Tourer which I have had since it was 9 moths old. Terrific car, and much under rated. Quick question,  was it difficult to remove the front bumper? I may need to do this in there near future to fix a parking sensor.

It's not that long ago that an 11 year old car in that condition would be worthless and 2 grand is what you would pay for a tidy, low mileage one. I don't know why you're sounding so proud about buying a car in that state.
