Since I am technically a Sims channel, and I’m a nostalgia junkie, I thought it was time to go back to where it all began. I’m really excited because I’ve literally had this video idea on my idea board for literally five years. After getting over the hurdle of getting this game to run on my PC I am happy to finally cover this game. So with all that, from filling their needs to Avril Lavigne, here are 50 Facts about the Sims.

I swear this man foretold the official release of the sims 1 and 2 on steam

I regularly spun up The Sims 1 not to control the characters, but to recreate areas from the Resident Evil games. Somewhere on a long forgotten PC hard drive I have the Spencer Mansion built.

Making Magic did NOT introduce aging and life stages. It gave the option to turn a child in to an adult via magic, but that was it.

Wait, the burglar is a mime in China? So you have the scary music and then a mime appears? That's much scarier tbh 😂

Whoever voiced that electrocuted woman deserves an award. That scream was hilariously brutal. I'll never forget it, ever.

Staircases can catch on fire in The Sims 1, and even spread it to the second floor! Brutal. Hearing the burglar noise sent shivers down any kid playing.

9:43 Fun fact: The Sims 1 in Poland is well known from very weird mistakes. One of them is translating Drew Carey as "Ta sławna Ewa" which means "This famous Eva". Nobody knews why

Simlish in the sims 1 isn't based on any languages. They wanted to mix several languages, but the results weren't good. Then the actors just improvised. Don't know about later games though, but we talk about ts1, right?

"Kearin and Lawlor served as the Simlish actors for the first several iterations of the game, spanning about up until 2006. The two would remain in the booth for unbroken hours in chains of unbroken days, speaking gibberish to one another, playing off what the other just said by extending a syllable to see what happened, or switching out a melancholy “vitash” for a livelier one."

I remember when the Sims came to Playstation. My mother got HOOKED on it to the point she went in my room to play every time I left the house and I had to basically kick her out lol.

Tragic Clown NPC was introduced in living large I believe. He became a series staple. Also if his painting burns in a fire then he dies by fire as well.

I LOVED the sims creator! Turns out I now model 3D characters for a living now, makes sense why I was obsessed as a kid

Sims 1 has a certain magic thats unmatched in any other sims game you just had to be there

As a kid, I only had the Sims base game and Living Large and my god it was SO difficult. I had one family where the dad was a zombie, the mum was being tortured by the tragic clown, and all the children had been taken to military school. It was brutal.

Child sims CAN die in The Sims 2 too although it seems not fully implemented as the ghosts are very glitchy.

No one believes/d me when I brought up Clare the Bear! To the point I was convinced I'd made her up!

This game is turning 25 this year and it was part of my childhood along with RE. Both games are part of me. I'm really glad you made this video even though I already knew all you said❤
You're the only channel I know that likes both of my favorite games.

Something about the OG sims I love, is how much character and personality each sim has, and the voice acting is so crazy good!!! I wish modern sims could replicate this feel so badly
