In this corruption extravaganza, we will not only discuss any corruption or glitch concerns in Bluewater Village (the shopping district subhood introduced with the third EP Open For Business), but also dive deep into improper sim deletion and attempt to demystify corruption.

After at least one BSOD, countless memory heap corruption errors in Lightworks while editing over the years, and a stressful few days trying to export this beast… I am THRILLED (and slightly terrified) to finally present the project that I have spent the past nearly three years working on! It has been an absolute rollercoaster, and there have been times where I thought this day would never come. Well, now it has! I can only hope you enjoy it💕

I appreciate this is a very long Thing since it’s essentially two videos in one, so feel free to speed me up, watch in chunks, or skip to the chapters you’re most interested in. There are also some updates scattered across the video (i.e. making it clear that the nine ancestors + Jeannie and Elle’s weirdness stems from their original Sim Descriptions disappearing somehow and having to regenerate as placeholders, as well as necessitating the regeneration of related files like SWAF and SDNA that are similarly placeholder…y in sections after their original segments at the beginning). Apologies if this is jarring; future videos hopefully should not have this problem, because I am hoping they won’t also take years to finish 🥲

As mentioned in the Outro, look out for polls on my Community tab deciding where to go next! Should we go right back to the beginning and completely start from scratch with individual videos, or would you rather see one big video correcting them all at once? We could also keep moving forward and retroactively keep correcting past mistakes. It’s up to you! In the meantime, I’ll get to work on some more short form content 🫡

While I think remaking the old videos with updated info would be a good idea, I personally would also like the old videos to be kept up on the channel, maybe with "OUTDATED" added to the end of the titles. I think they're a really good insight into how we all used to view corruption and why we viewed it that way that I'm sure some future treasure hunting Simmers would be interested in.

Clicked on this fully expecting some lore about how governmentally corrupt this town is via some obscure story or smth- not actual game corruptions. Very informative and funny though! New subscriber :)

it's fascinating and kinda beautiful to see the shift in the way the sims 2 community talks about corruption, and yet it makes perfect sense. the vast majority of the current sims 2 players were either too young or not tech savvy enough to understand why corruption happens or what it even is, and got kinda used to the creepypasta mythological way it used to take from two decades of fandom word of mouth. but the truth matters!! we learn and grow from it!! isn't that beautiful!!!

You do not owe anyone anything. You don't owe us videos, you don't owe us an explanation, you don't owe us anything. Don't worry, just do your thing.
Great video, I appreciate the acknowledgement of mistakes made in the past but also don't think you were solely to blame for worries about corruption, I mostly blame pescado 😅
And to reiterate: Don't worry, don't let others stress you or mess with your process, just do your thing.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced unlinking was created as a method to just let players save space on their PCs since storage back in 2004 was EXPENSIVE, therefore it just made sense that if a Sim were to be deleted they would keep the important bits of info while significantly shrinking the amount of data associated with it to save space.

Re: "Denise's denial" - hell, her lack of memories in general - I can't help but maybe read that at first as some rudimentary approximation of dementia? IDK. I wanna make it clear that I know it probably isn't that at all, most signs point to this being more unintentional EAxis fuckery. But my initial thoughts probably have something to do with my own personal family experiences with dementia. Without going into detail, let's just say it makes sense to me that a combination of that and a... collection of bugs in a notoriously buggy life-sim (we love her anyway) is fuelling my already overactive imagination but I guess I'm just surprised I seem to be the first to mention it (although... I also understand that's probably because TS2 is a comfort game for many of us and dementia is, dare I say, a bit of a downer)
