The old legend about 20 meter sea monsters are easy to explain: every time a fisherman tells a story, the fish gets bigger 😂😂😂

That baby is worth at least 9,000 bells

Out there somewhere is an alien documentary with the line "We tried feeding the human babies everything: we tried feeding them glibbgar eggs, we shoved vitamin enriched dirt into their mouths, we tried charging them from the sun; nothing worked. What they eat is still a mystery. The human babies were dead in 3 days."

So their striking flame-red crest isn't just for show it literally comes from the pigment of the krill they eat! It's the deep-sea equivalent of flamingos turning pink from shrimp.

dissecting a rotting thirty foot fish must be a pretty unique experience.

If you call the oarfish something out of a nightmare then you haven't seen what else lives there.

"an old Oarfish may not just be older, it may simply be longer"
this is the worst writing I have ever heard.

That is a reaper bro get your scanner straight

Low water pressure in the fish tank housing the newly hatched fish at an early stage may be a factor in these babies dying.

That is not a “horse like face”…

I think its more likely that people really DID see oarfish that reached 15+ meters. We already KNOW as a fact that the average size of sperm whales used to be MUCH larger than what we see today. We also know as a fact that there was indeed at least one known massive sperm whale that was in fact at least 50% larger than any other bull seen at the time. These are documented facts that are not debated by science. The idea that we simply dont see the massive oarfish anymore doesnt seem to be all that impossible.

“I caught and oarfish! I hope I catch morefish!”

“The eggs are bright red” shows exclusively yellow egg, outlining it with a red square…??

This creature really explains why ancient sailors believed in sea serpents. The strangest part is not its size, but how little we actually know about how it lives. If oarfish usually live so deep, what exactly forces them to appear near the surface before they die?

You also get a cool model if you give 3 of them to an otter

There was another documentary on giant squid in the deep oceans, they found that white light scared everything away. Infra-red light didn’t, and they saw multiple giant squid with infra-red light and a dummy LED pulsating jellyfish to lure it in. Wonder if that would work with oarfish?

"There are multiple leviathan class lifeforms in this area. Are you sure whatever you're doing is worth it?"

You know damn well someone in Japan is figuring out a way to serve this as a delicacy…

3:11 “horselike?” You sure ab that, bud?

"A horse-like face" uh, have you ever looked at a horse? lmao
