This international cricket stadium, being built at a cost of approximately ₹450 crore, has a spectator capacity of approximately 30,000. According to a report in late September, approximately 96% of the stadium's work was complete. The construction agency is preparing to hand it over in October.
Major areas of the stadium, including the pavilion, media center, field, and pitch, are largely complete. During the administrative inspection in August, some work related to the damru and external development was reported to be remaining. Now, the focus is on finalizing these tasks.
When will the inauguration take place?
According to media reports, the stadium is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last week of October 2026. However, as of October 3, an official confirmation date for the inauguration has not been available. The stadium is planned to be handed over to the construction agency in October.

Under-19 matches are scheduled here in December between Uttar Pradesh and Puducherry from December 3-6 and between Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from December 11-14. Following this, the possibility of hosting Women's Premier League matches has also been raised in January 2027.

Once this grand stadium in Kashi is fully completed, Varanasi is expected to have a new hub for national-level cricket events.
