Louise says "General, I'm in the American camp. General, your wife sent me a message in my dream.
She said you should use courage to help save the world. War doesn't make heroes, only orphans and widows."
At the ball, the General ends with, "Thank you...thank you." (In Mandarin)
As someone who has lost a child, you do go on autopilot. Our daughter was 13 when she passed from an illness she battled her entire life. I literally barely remember the first 6 months. It was like a thick fog. I barely remember going back to work after a month. Sitting at home seemed to make it worse because I would see her everywhere. I started coming out of the fog at 6 months but someone is never whole after something like this. It still hits me at times like it just happened. You just learn how to push through.
