furry.

My mind is blown hearing about Rose having multiple exits! I would never have even thought of looking for such things in a million years!

Diomedeidae is the Scientific name of Albatross if you didn't know.

22:56  Sonic Heroes difficulty in a nut shell

Team Rose: easy mode
Team Sonic: normal mode
Team Dark: Hard mode
Team Chaotix: Mission mode.

btw about the A rank requirement
dont forget not dying ONCE somewhat late into the stage or in the middle because good fucking luck getting those levels back and clearing the strength sections fast

10:58 for anyone who's wondering the TRUE pronunciation for Diomedeidae is I kid you not "Dye-oh-me-DEE-dee"

Glad you enjoyed the set for the most part, I'll definitely admit I went a little too far with that Team Dark challenge for Grand Metropolis.
Sonic Heroes was my main 3D Sonic game for years, so working on the set was a dream for me.

Yeah, some of those achievement names were pretty long, mainly because the ones for beating the bosses used the victory quotes from characters (like Espio's "Death to the evil one! Prepare to die, Eggman!").
10:49 For those wondering, Diomedeidae is the scientific name for the albatross.
20:05 Yep, that blasted door left me wondering for years how to open it, or if it was just supposed to be always closed. Figured it would be a nice one to show players for the Team Sonic extra mission.
20:48 Mainly just a pun of wood and would, along with using live since it's about getting 1-ups.
30:44 Yep, that wink feels like such an unnecessary easter egg. That name was based on one of the lines Rouge says while waiting around in Seaside Hill, mainly because you can just get it immediately, and as a small hint to stop moving.
46:05 I personally found the Chaos Emerald challenges easier with only using the Power formation character, as the emerald's speed is based on your formation. And as you later found out, that small jump while boosting can be immensely helpful. Nicely done!

And yes, you pronounced my name correctly

20:47 that may be a reference to the sonic underground, specifically referring to how the kids search for their mother

SO THATS HOW YOURE SUPPOSED TO GET THE VIP TABLE!???

i just threw myself at it until i glutch through

I wasn't expecting that Wario jumpscare at 6:05 but that got a good laugh out of me after a long day at work.

For the Special Stages, you can just pick the Power characters and boost. Dunno why, but they got insane speed.

8:06 "THERE I AM, GARY THERE I AM!" :D

7:27 the trick itself is a frame perfect trick when the power character returns to flight formation, it resets the fly meter and your upward boosts too, thats what happened

19:00 I actually never knew there was a switch to disable the laser gate. I always just clipped through the laser gate and never questioned why the characters had dialogue for playing on the VIP table :o

I know this is super late, but at 6:40 the bounce you get is due to the way flying characters interact with the rest of their team. Basically, because they have to be at the top of the formation, when you use thundershoot the characters will return to you and make you move up slightly. If they both come back at around the same time and with some speed + jumping at the right time can cause the physics to get confused and just send you upwards at a decent speed.

That final bit was super hype with Break Through It All

"I've Won... But At What Cost?" -> achievement  unlocked :trophy-yellow-smiling:

Another Sonic Heroes enjoyer, those are rare nowadays. Since I am this game's #1 fan (I have proof), I also tried to do these achievements, however I own the Sonic PC Collection version so it was more of a self-imposed challenge. Fortunately the Special Stages have better controls in the PC version which made the Special Stage achievements a bit easier (they're not perfect, but better than the GameCube version for sure). It also helps that the PC version has ridiculously short load times. I do strongly agree with the idea of an option to replay Special Stages directly from Challenge Mode though. Same goes for Super Hard Mode levels.

I understand why you hate the Team Chaotix missions so much, but since I have memorised the locations of every collectable across every level, I love all of them. The uniqueness of their levels makes them more interesting to me since all the other teams have the standard level format covered.

To answer your question about that 'bounce' that saved your runs in some of Team Rose's levels, that's a glitch called Last Resort Flight. If you are flying and perform a Flight Accel right as your flight gauge ends, you'll exit the flying state but you'll still get the upward burst of speed from the Flight Accel. It's also good to drop from your flight height cap slightly before performing the glitch to increase the speed you are propelled by.

6:08 Wario Moment

You gotta admit that Team Chaotix's theme goes hard, though.
