The whole point of the Galarian Birds is that they are fake their original types. Articuno freezes people with telepathic powers, Zapdos makes sounds of electricity with it's musculature, and Moltres looks like it's aflame.

I like how Mikey forgets that in Legends Arceus you meet a dude whose ancestor got frisky with a Froslass, and said dude gives you a quest to go and find his ancestor…the froslass

Props to you for finally accepting the max movement speed vs reaction time argument. My fat cat reacts much faster than my car, although my car reaches higher top speed, tell me I'm wrong.

The Professor Gible dialogue is from Art Class at Naranja/Uva Academy. Used to demonstrate terrastalization! I love attending the classes bc it gives so much insight into the teacher characters--

"Professor Gible" was from two of the Art classes with Hassel, where he talks about the Tera Jewels and teaches you about the Tera Type changing service at the Treasure Eatery in Medali. Don't skip school. It's important and rewarding (you get EXP Candies for good exam grades.)

Friendly reminder that Froslass kidnaps handsome men and hangs their frozen corpses out as decorations after draining their life energy

Another thing about the folklore stories was that they were horribly mistranslated by AI. The Typhlosion one was actually not bad at all.

A pen with a leak? That’s pretty far-fetched.

12:42 "I am turning 30 on Thanksgiving Day, so when you are eating your turkey or whatever else, give a little thanks for me being born."
Gratz on turning 30, Mikey! From someone who is also celebrating their birthday on Thanksgiving Day.

I just know Mikey was so proud of the intro joke

@ 7:05 - Object-mon are based on Japanese mythology, it's a part of their culture.
Their Yokai known as Tsukumogami, & I'm so surprised they haven't made the one eyed umbrella Pokemon yet.
Also yes, if your familiar with Yo-kai Watch, their both drawing from the same source, Japan has been collecting monsters since the 1600's.

Lockstin & Gnoggin put it very well in their video about the leaks: "Discarded canon is NOT canon." And I agree wholeheartedly with that.

8:05 The whiplash I got from "Zen..... Form Darmanitan" was so indescribable having that moment of intense thoughts into this pun through me off so much. This is why I love Aspitipiay and Mikey's videos so much, you never know what you can expect until it happens.

Of all the stuff from the leaks, there's two things I'm happy about. That Skyla is confirmed to be a Latina and the beta designs of Mars, Jupiter, and Cyrus had it be that Team Galactic were originally going to basically be the Space Mafia.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the stories from the leak were NOT an attempt at actual lore. They were almost certainly WORLDBUILDING EXERCISES!!!

They were likely used to get some initial ideas down that were never intended to be canon. Then, the writers would already be in a creative mindset to work on the actual lore.

2:56 "I CAN'T READ, I AM AN UNDERTALE FAN" Got it's long deserved sequel.

11:18 yeah there’s a yokai that’s just an instrument that was abandoned and thrown out so it wanders the street playing sad music about how no one loves it.

That meme of how the SS Anne left Kanto, in the anime the cycling road is indeed a bridge with a part that raises to let boat pass. There's even a funny scene of Jessie, James and Meoth trying to jump that raised gap on monocycles only to be blown away by the chimney of a boat.

Since many Pokedex entries are based on instances of real life mythology, it's not a stretch to assume that the Pokedex entries themselves could also just be in-universe folklore that didn't really happen. Don't get me wrong, there's evidence to support the validity of some of them, but others are so absurd that I don't think the Pokedex is a 100% reliable source of information, especially given the fact that the Paradox Pokemon entries site a literal scam magazine.
