My pride and my soul, my Blue-Eyes White Dragonborn! 🧿👄🧿
Weebs this one is for you 😌

“Dragons sought to make a new race to serve as… interns, ones that would never rebel”
My first thought : kobolds

Most races' visual design is just 'differently shaped/coloured human'. Dragonborn are so amazing because they're NOT human-esque - as cool as the idea is, I think it honestly waters their visual design down to put so many human elements back into them.

Today I learned:

There was a large debate over lizard breast in DnD too and not just in Elder Scrolls lore.

Good to know

My friend once played a dragonborn that was the product of a human bard and a dragon in a comedy oneshot. Another friend played an old man who was a bard who once seduced a dragon. They came up with these concepts independently.
Shout out to Luke the DM for tying their backstories together. A happy little family.

I like this idea of the third time the dragons tried to create interns they made kobolds based on the smaller humanoid races they turned into dragontouched and finally got loyal interns

You should probably add a note about the Dragonborn reprints in Fizbans. Each type; Metallic, chromatic and gem got a subrace that gives them unique abilities, and their breath weapon was buffed to be able to be used multiple times a day.

I admire how you actively engage concepts that aren't specifically to your tastes and create something new from the aspects you enjoy. Also, as a liker of dragons myself, I appreciate your diplomacy! You're not putting things you're not keen on down, you're finding inspiration and that! Is beautiful. The way you create is uplifting.

Billy? Where did the Dragon touch you?

What if I'm a 23 year old who thinks dragons are cool

I think the funniest thing to me is how green dragonborns were literally completed invalidated by Yuan Ti Pureblood, even down to Yuan Ti speaking draconic AND abyssal

Youtube has an aspect of luck to it, but it also rewards quality of work pretty well so I knew you would take off. From the thumbnails to video structure plus you end it with something tangible to use in our games? Legend.

Also somehow every reference you make speaks to my soul in a deep level, never stop using Disgaea music lmao

Your videos have such a wonderful mix of creativity and genuinely funny jokes. It's like this channel was made in a lab for me. Congrats on your growth!

Y'know my idea was to pull from other mythologies related to dragons, I have a backlog character that's a gold dragonborn paladin (IT GETS MORE INTERESTING I PROMISE!) but instead of a standard dragon inspiration, his physicality is based more on East Asian dragon lore, his fire damage breath is a blast of boiling river water, his features are more slender and snakelike than bulky like the wyrms of European lore, he  has a mustache like East Asian dragons and "hair" that's a wild matte of vibrant fire colored feathers extending in an approximation of a mullet over his back, and his personality is based on Dinidan the laughing knight of Arthur's round table because this oath of the ancients paladin is a wandering music junkie who spreads "the light" by lending aid to any travellers he comes across and aggressively sharing the good vibes of the world with everyone he meets.

Me: likes dragonborn because they are further away from "default human with small tweaks or accessories"
Pointy hat: here's another race of "human, but with this..."

The Dragonborn make me think that they evolved from kobolds. Kobolds were born from dragonblood and served dragons from the start and continue to do so to this day. I can easily see a dragon deciding to experiment on the kobolds and breed a better kobold and end up creating Dragonborn.

By any chance, can you cover Goblins?? Goblins are super cool with a ton of ability to be cool npcs, monsters or even player races :D

As a DM, I like to think some dragons still know how to turn humanoids into more dragonborn with alchemy and rituals that most other beings can't channel and direct enough raw elemental energy to perform.

I can't help but wince when I think of the back and neck problems the asymmetry would create.

My older daughter showed me your videos, and I instantly loved them! We started to play D&D recently with my family, and this video gave me many ideas to develop with my little daughter's dragonborn character, in the campaign we're playing. Thank you and keep up your excellent work!
