Super Junior was the first group to introduce me to K-pop in 2009, and I'm still with them. Super Junior were the first to start sub-units in K-pop. The first sub-unit was Super Junior KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung). Then there was Super Junior M (Mandarin), Super Junior H (Happy), Super Junior T (Trot), Super Junior D&E (Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior LSS (Leeteuk, Shindong, and Siwon), and now the new sub-unit is Super Junior 83z (Leeteuk and Heechul).

Super Junior The Last Man Standing 💙

Suju is my first taste of kpop. I will remember it all my life.

No other group has had an intro song on
Killing Voice.
The KINGS OF HALLYU always deserve to receive something because they are extremely unique.
The first larger group,
The first group to have a non-Korean member,
The first group to do a concert,
The first group to have a viral song,
The first group to have a unit...
K-pop owes a lot to Super Junior.

Super Junior is currently a 9 member group who debuted in November 2005, so this year is their 21th anniversary. In their Killing Voice performance, from left to right:
> Shindong, lead dancer (one of SM's top dancers) and lead rapper, who is currently 39.
> Ryeowook, main vocalist (one of the top vocalists in SM and the entire industry), part of the maknae line who is currently 38 -- very sassy (He is the only active member who is married).
> Donghae, lead vocalist, lead dancer, sub-rapper, who is also a songwriter and composer, who is 38.
> Yesung, main vocalist (one of the industry's top vocalists), who is currently 40.
> Siwon, lead vocalist, visual and center, who is also known as a top actor, he is currently 40.
> Kyuhyun, main vocalist (One of the best vocalists in the industry) and youngest member, who is currently 38.
> Heechul, lead rapper, lead vocalist, lead dancer, who is one of the two oldest at 42 (Famous for his roles as a main cast member and/or host of many top variety shows.)
> Eunhyuk, main dancer (one of SM and the industry's top dancers), main rapper and vocalist, who is currently 40.
> Leeteuk, leader and lead vocalist, who is the oldest member at 42 (He's considered the leader of leaders who has the title of leader of all Kpop groups and is known for his role as an MC and host of many events and variety shows, etc.)

However, Super Junior was originally a 15 member group, so if you're talking about all 15 members, the true maknae is Henry from Super Junior-M (SM's very first Mandarin Chinese sub-unit), he is currently 35.

All 15 members in age order:
1. Leeteuk (Park Jeong-su): July 1, 1983
2. Heechul (Kim Heechul): July 10, 1983
3. Hangeng (Han Geng): February 9, 1984 (Chinese member, the very first non-Korean foreign member of any Kpop group.)
4. Yesung (Kim Jong-woon): August 24, 1984
5. KangIn (Kim Young-woon): January 17, 1985
6. Shindong (Shin Dong-hee): September 28, 1985
7. Sungmin (Lee Sung-min): January 1, 1986
8. Eunhyuk (Lee Hyuk-Jae): April 4, 1986
9. Siwon (Choi Si-won): April 7, 1986
10. Zhoumi (Zhou Mi): April 19, 1986 (Chinese member, who is still an active member, who debuted as a Super Junior-M member in 2008.)
11. Donghae (Lee Dong-hae): October 15, 1986
12. Ryeowook (Kim Ryeo-wook): June 21, 1987
13. Kibum (Kim Ki-bum): August 21, 1987
14. Kyuhyun (Cho Kyuhyun): February 3, 1988 (debuted as the 13th member of SuJu in 2006)
15. Henry (Henry Lau/ Liu Xian Hua) October 11, 1989 (Chinese/Taiwanese Canadian, who debuted as a member in 2007/2008.)

All the SuJu members are 1980s babies, so they are much older then they might look. That's why they are OGs in the industry, they've been around so long that they helped to create the Kpop industry as you see it today.

Super Junior are SM artists and  SM is full of amazing vocalists, so of course SuJu vocals and harmonies are crazy good. All of SM's artists are out of this world vocalists, that's why SM is the vocal powerhouse of the industry. Plus, Super Junior has the 3 best vocalists in the industry, Super Junior-K.R.Y. -- Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung. K.R.Y. are a vocal powerhouse group that was formed in 2006, only a year after debut, and they were the very first sub-unit in all of Kpop. Up until 2020 Super Junior-K.R.Y was a purely live performance group, so they have been recognized as top singers from the very beginning. And on top of that, just like all of SM's artists, even SuJu's rappers are amazing vocalists who have been known to fill in for the main vocalists on occasion.

One thing you should make note of is that most of these songs included a lot more members or some of the members weren't even a part of the original song, so in their Killing voice the SuJu members all had to cover different parts than what they did originally, so that just goes to show you how good they really are. Even with a completely different lineup and arrangement, they are able to sound just as good, or even better than the original version.

They currently have 12 full length albums and just as many repackaged albums, as well as a multitude of mini albums. Plus, they have 6 sub-units -- Super Junior-K.R.Y.  (made up of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- SJ's main vocalists and 3 of the top vocalists in the entire industry), Super Junior-D & E (made up of Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior-T (Trot -- which is like a cross between the equivalent of western old-style country music and cabaret music. It's older-style Korean pop music that's all about being kind of cheesy, fun and over the top), Super Junior-M (Mandarin Chinese), Super Junior-H (Happy)  and Super Junior-L.S.S. (made up of Leeteuk, Shindong and Siwon). And they now have 9 active members (12 members all together), and most of them also have solo tracks and albums. So yes, they have plenty of songs to check out (more than 800 songs all together), as well as numerous live performances and concert footage. Super Junior was the first group to ever hold 100 concerts back in 2014, and there have been dozens more since then. (They are currently on their Super Show 10 world concert tour.) So, I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL

Super Junior are one of the Godfather's of Kpop and they have always been ahead of their time. They have such a wide range of songs and styles that they appeal to almost everyone, you just have to find your jam.

That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their most recent MVs and songs and why you often see them dressed in suites. They are all men, not boys. LOL But as you will soon discover, they are one of the most unique groups when it comes to the dynamics of the members personalities -- they truly are fun, crazy, over the top and aren't afraid to just let their freak flag fly when they interact with each other. They truly are a group of brothers that have been together for so many years that nothing is off limits and they don't hide their true selves from the cameras. LOL

Super Junior are known for their story based MVs, their catchy choreography and their goofy fun concepts.

The intro background music for their Killing Voice sounds epic because that's their song "Superman." If you watch their live concert performance of "Superman" you will understand why it's so hype sounding, because that song is a SuJu anthem that is often their opening of their concerts.

If you have been listening to kpop music for any amount of time you have probably heard "Sorry Sorry" before and may not have even realized it at the time. It's almost impossible to be a fan of Kpop and not know this song, LOL. This is one of THE MOST iconic Kpop songs and choreo of all time. "Sorry Sorry" is what shot Super Junior into intentional superstardom. EVERY single person and their grandparents in Korea knows this song and can dance the dance. "Sorry Sorry" is the one song that everyone in the industry knows and is practically required to perform at least once in their careers.

Super Junior has a very big Latin fanbase and they are one of the most popular Kpop groups in Latin America. If you look at the comments on some of Super Junior's most recent videos you will see that there are almost more comments in Spanish than any other language, including Korean. SuJu started the Latin Kpop trend in 2014 with "Mamacita," but it really didn't catch on beyond that until more recently. Now, one of SuJu's styles of music is Latin infused Kpop, and they have been working with famous Latin artists, collaborating to combine Korean, Spanish and English to create a perfect blend of cultures. Latin America is pretty much an untapped market for Kpop, and yet, Kpop is pretty popular in Latin countries, so Super Junior has started focusing on their Latin fans by producing songs in collaboration with Latin artists and holding press tours and concerts in Latin America, specifically for their Latin fans. They were one of the very first Kpop groups to ever hold a concert in Latin America. Once again, they are paving the way in a new direction that had never been done before.

The reason the Super Junior members remember the choreography so well is because they were preparing for their Super Show Concert 10 world tour at this time and for their 20th anniversary this concert is all about performing the original versions of these songs. So they were practicing the dances for all of these songs. Normally they would have a harder time remembering all the dances from way back in the day, but they were planning their concert, so it was fresh in their minds.

SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.

This group is highly respected within the Kpop industry and all Kpop artists look up to them. They are legends among legends.

there's nothing that makes me happier than people discovering Super Junior, tysm for reacting to them 🥺🥺💙💙

It's really very nice to see them sing and dance at the same time... They have never forgotten their dance steps like it's inbuilt into them...

My father has been a fan of Super Junior since 2006, at that time I was only 2 years old, I have basically grown up listening to them

Yay! Please shower more love to Super Junior!!! They are really so precious.

Oh a bit of trivia. According to reports and staff reactions, while artists usually require two to three takes to film a Killing Voice recording. Super Junior finished their 20-minute medley in just one take, surprising staff and even themselves.

It's really nice seeing all these messages of SJ will listening to killing voice.. We ELFs are just so sweet to leave nice replies and sharing infos and making more people discover Super Junior.. please continue to love each other E.L.Fs 💙💙💙💙

I can confirm that they sound freaking incredible in concert. I've seen them 3 times and it's never enough!!!!

They've just finished their 20th anniversary tour and they have lots of individual activities starting.
Donghae, Yesung, and Ryeowook have solo albums coming out. Heechul and Leeteuk are doing a tour as a unit and will probably release something as well.
All of them will be doing various activities e.g. musicals, variety shows, youtube, interviewing other idols etc.

These guys sing LIVE without autotune or correction of any sort. That’s the amazing thing. Some groups do LIVE autotune but these guys sing LIVE without issues.
