I just want to add that lupin really thought that Sirius was the one who betrayed Harry's parents. He thought his best friend had betrayed them for 12 years. And then harry says he saw peter on the map, and lupin, Sirius, and James made the map so he was sure it was correct. So he realized in that moment his best friend was innocent!

Brad after the Pettigrew reveal: "I KNEW IT!!!"

Brad, five minutes earlier: "I bet the rat turns into Buckbeak"

the fact that ron said "you asked us a question and she knows the answer! why ask if you don't want to be told?" to defend hermione from prof. snape in the book and the dialogue that doesn't appear in the film really haunts me forever 🥲

Brad yelling at Malfoy to use purple shampoo just added three years to my life

Nobody cares but since Ron is my favorite character I always have to shout out how one of his biggest and bravest moments were taken from him and given to Hermione. “If you want to kill Harry you’ll have to kill us too.” Is originally his line and it makes me upset every time cause these movies messes up his characterization so much

when brad made a Sirius (serious) joke i cackled because everyone in the Marauders fandom collectively agrees that a young Sirius would CONSTANTLY make jokes like that 🤣

Petition to get Brad into the Marauders fandom, IMMEDIATELY

the fact that harry's aunt gave her dog alcohol is still so crazy to me...

The Patronus appears in the form of your inner animal. Harry’s is a stag and he thought it was his dad because (this wasn’t in the film but is in the books) Lupin tells him that his dad transformed into a stag when they became Animagi as kids. Lupin (Moony) was a werewolf, so Sirius (Padfoot) became a dog, Peter (Wormtail) became a rat, and James (Prongs) became a stag so they could keep him company on the full moons without getting hurt. They were also the original makers of the map.
Edit: An Animagus is a witch or wizard who can turn into an animal. McGonagall is one - she can turn into a cat (we see this in the first film).

14:56 btw Ron actually defended Hermione here in the book, saying "You asked us a question and she knows the answer! Why ask if you don't want to be told?"

So there always has to be an additional explanaition of what was left out from the movie: Lupin was bitten by a werewolf at the age of five. So from that time on he would turn into a werewolve once a month. Therefore he believed he could never go to school. Until Dumbledor became headmaster and allowed him to go to hogwarts. He joined the same year James (Harrys vater), sirius and peter did. They became fast friends being all in Griffindor. However lupin didn't tell them what he was because he feared they would abandone him. Even though they were little trouble makers the were very smart and figured it out anyways. Instead of abandoning lupin the wanted to find a way to help him. So James and Sirius and later also peter became animagus (a year long and very difficult process - that was illegal because they never told anyone). The animagi form is always something very significant for their character. Sirius a little wild and reckless, but a puppy at heart turned into a very large dog. James a strong loyal but also proud friend turned into a stag, and peter....the traitor became a rat...
SO now that they could turn into animals  at will they could spend the full moon with lupin. Because the bite of a werewolve only changes a human. He can hurt animals but he could not make them werewolves while they were animals.
As james and sirus were both large and strong animals they startet to become more daring and all four of them (while lupin was transformed into a werewolve) started to explore the castle and the grounds together. Because they spend so much time exploring they decided they needed to preserve some of the information they gathered and the together they created the marauders map. Lupin is moony (the moon you know), Padfoot is Sirius (a dogs paw), James is prongs and peter is wormtail (for the ratstail).
SO the map harry has was actually made by his father and his friends. And that is why Harrys Patronus the spell you use the fight the dementors is also a stag. A Patronus spell done correctly also turns into an animal that is very symbolic of your character. James and Harry are so alike that his patronus was a stag just as his fathers.

Lupin didn’t know that Sirius was innocent until he saw Peter on the map! So for 12 years he thought his friend had killed his two other friends, trauma tbh 💔💔💔

Brad is all of us as adults realizing how unsafe Hogwarts was 😂

The brief pause before you realized Buckbeak was sentence to death killed me 😂😂

When Brad said “why do they have them at a school?” about the dementors I laughed, cause the amount of times I’ve said these same exact words watching these movies is wild. Hogwarts is literally a death trap.💀

Sirius and Remus - two best bros just being dudes bros, definitely not anything romantic or any sexual tension at all…

”Lupins eyes were fixed on Sirius” FOR 40 LINES

The way you confidently said "Peter Pedigree" had me cackling hahaha

One thing that isn’t mentioned in the movies is that the marauders map was made by messrs moony, wormtail, pad foot and prongs are none other than James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin!
I will forever be upset that they didn’t put this in the movies!

11:28 LMAO- I’ve watched Harry Potter legit 50 times and have never fucking noticed that Buckbeak takes a dump in the corner. I’m howling

“ofc! he’s not gonna give you a fucking hug… you don’t escape from prison just to say hi”

😭😭😭 actually…. that would be correct
