Not only was Johnny hugely hilarious, Ed McMann’s laugh in the background was so infectious, it is also what made the show so comical. Thanks for the memories.
Johnny Carson was it. He was da man for da job and that was it. He was da host with da most for this show and, although Leno was good, Carson was better by 150%.
I don't think I've seen the audience give a standing ovation like that where the camera actually showed the audience. Pretty neat. Johnny usually quieted the audience pretty quickly when they did that.
Thanx muchly for sharing this little gem, Honeydew Hideout! I saw probably all of Johnny's Tonight Shows, first-run, and not again till now, so I thank you. I miss Johnny, and his Tonights. Always a fun show. And you usually learned at least one thing, too: whether it be something about the guest, or a critter, or a country, or the universe, or even a new joke. RIP, darling Johnny, and thanx so very much, for the magic, music, and memories.
