"This is about painting my army fast" - then him proceeding to work on details more than me on my hero models

I've been painting models for 50+ years.  Yeah, I'm old.  I'm not a gamer, never played Warhammer but was intrigued by the miniatures, mainly the vehicles not the figures.  I've watched the painting techniques evolve fast, driven by figure painting mainly, and getting picked up by other types of modelling genres.  I started out using rattlecans, good old testors, before getting my first airbrush in the 80s.  I still use Rattlecans, especially for priming.  Rattlecans when properly cared for can give you excellent coverage, smooth even surfaces, no splatter.  As some have already stated, warm your cans in warm water for several minutes.  I use hot water right from the tap and every few minutes I'll put the can back in the water to keep it warm.  Shake the cans well!  Shake them when you pause in spraying.  It keeps the paint mixed and the propellent pressure up.  When you are done, and this is important, turn your can upside down and spray to clear the tube and nozzle, otherwise paint can dry over the spray nozzle aperture and cause splatter. Finally, take a swab and a tiny bit of solvent and clean the aperture to make sure that no paint is left to plug up the hole.  Store the cans with the caps on.  I use 6 different airbrushes, 3 compressors counting my large automotive compressor.  When or if you go to an airbrush get a compressor with a tank.  A compressor without a tank can pulsate the air in the line affecting the flow of air and paint out of the airbrush.  And make sure you get a water trap.  I hauled my kit around the world during my military career and places with high humidity, like the Far East, will saturate the air in your compressor and send it thru your airline, out the nozzle of your airbrush and all over your project causing massive headaches and severe fits of rage and carnage.

I love this channel for both the painting and the Czechness of it.

1. zenithal, 2. speedpaints/xpress/contrasts. 3. Oil wash, 4. little highlights
This is the way of army painting.

Today i learned: shirtless Zumi is an absolute unit.

I'm painting a World eaters combat patrol, 1 mini a day, no stress

I love the return of the miniature assembly dungeon. XD

11:30 THANK YOU. This is what so many people fail to understand: GW might suck with some of their business practices over the years, and their release schedule and delays may get so frustrating that it makes you want to shave with a weedwhacker, but the universe, the setting they created with 40K is so rich and vibrant and the stories and characters are so cool, interesting, funny, and just overall captivating that you can't help but be drawn to it.

Plus they have amazing artwork and painters who (almost) always make sure their models look so, so good. I just wish they would credit them more often as individuals.

Zumikito is half bear. The start of this video is a 100% proof.

Let me make this insanely easy for you if you are using an airbrush.
GET WHITE ACRYLIC INK!
GET WHITE ACRYLIC INK!
GET WHITE ACRYLIC INK!
It makes zenithal priming so much easier and the effect is night and day to any other method. It layers the white so instead of just going from black to white, you have different gradiations of gray, dark grey, black and pure white at the apex. It catches edges far better than normal air paint and doesn’t over do it.

8:58 I've found that smaller leather bits are a unique thing with contrast paints.

Unlike everything else, where you want to avoid pooling, if you apply almost too much Snakebite Leather on straps and pouches, so that the flat areas are completely flooded to maximum darkness, and only edges  and raised parts of folds are still a little yellowy, you can instantly replicate the look of an 'Eavy Metal paint job (at least from any normal viewing distance). You may want to dab the deepest recesses with black wash for added contrast, but usually these parts don't have anything so important that you'd need to do that.

It's a slightly slower task than the rest of speedpainting, but pays back dividends for the instant edge highlights that help the otherwise bland armor panels under the straps pop

One of the best mini painters I've ever seen! Insanely good 👏

"But also I am a Gooner" Died Laughing

I honestly love this series so far, it’s cool to see someone who I’ve looked up to for painting display pieces try new things and not compromising completely on something that would be faster over looking better. It shows a beautiful balance of good looking miniatures while also showing that you don’t have to spend hours on each one to get them to look good.

Love to see you dive deep into army painting and the different techniques/strategies. Seeing the results side by side is amazing for people that have never tried a method. Can't wait for the next video.

I still think this is going to end with a similar speed painting style to how Marco NJM does it, and I'm all for it

You are like human comfort food. I would still watch you even if I didn't paint minis.

Those gems are such a flex

Even though it would be an extra expense, there are good nozzle options for rattlecans these days. I'd rather buy a bag of nozzles, than shilling out for an airbrush. I love the looks that an airbrush gives, given that it works in a smaller and more controlled area with better paint dispersion, it's just never gonna be in the budget.

1:45 Hey at least Zumikito keeps him clothed with his new merch t shirt to stay comfortable in the dungeon.
