This brought back good memories of trolling Goo-Goo Eyes rigged with eelskins on 45-lb. wire line over Cuttyhunk's Sow and Pigs reef. As you demonstrated with the one you made just a year ago, these lures REALLY swam and, in my experience, were far more stable in the water than, say, the big amber Atom. Today, I smile at freshwater bass anglers who rave about the effectiveness of their wonderful new "wakebaits." Hardcore coastal striper fishermen figured out the appeal of these designs many decades ago with plugs like the Goo-Goo Eyes! Hope you start producing videos again someday soon. Best, Chris
Im just researching everything i need and trying to find out where to start for plug building. Im glad i stumbled across this, you have a simplified process. still looks like a tough craft you've mastered, but youve got apprpaches i haven't seen.
One thing you know for sure... that lure has a successful repeatable design! Great video. I hope you make more lures!
