My first stop after entering China from Laos was Pu'er, Yunnan. I initially thought it was all about Pu'er tea, but the surprisingly low prices on the streets were a pleasant surprise! However, walking through the old streets and commercial areas, the ubiquitous "For Rent" signs and the desolate shops revealed the true state of society.
