“God does what He pleases”

Right. It pleases Him to give man free will and stewardship of the world. 😊

I wished this panel would have discussed, "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?". It would have been much more profitable.

I was predestined to reject the false doctrine of Calvinism

- "God is free, He's the most free!"
- Yeah....and what if He freely chose to create creatures to have free will as He does, like being made "in His likeness"?
- "No! Nooooo! You're flattening it out!" 😂

It's kind of comical yet sad to hear so many "theologians" tell people "God is this way, and that way, and must do this because He is that way...."
Like....dude, did you check with Him before you started going around telling everyone what the guy is like!?

Calvinism breaks God down to a formulaic input-output machine that can't even create a truly random dice roll.
That's a pathetic god.

I've listened to enough Calvinism to say, "I understand and I disagree."
Calvinism is an intellectually compromised practice of stupid philosophy.

This reminds me of when I had to give an oral book report on something I hadn't read. It sounds like they're making it up as they go and forgetting the points that they made previously

Their argument seems to boil down to:
"People choose what they choose, and will what they will, so that means they don't actually have free will."
and
"The proof that people can only make one specific choice in any circumstance is that they do in fact make that choice."

Neither of these statements have any probative value. They are literally just asserting their claim after pointing at something that would be true under any argument at all.

54 minutes in and this is nuts. The best I can tell is they want to be able to argue both sides and claim that both fall under the label of either determinism or???? At one point he specifically said that we cannot make the choice to do what we don't want to do and then about 10 minutes later he says we do what we don't want to do all the time.

Waddup Brother Rev!!!

19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. (Gen 2:19-20)

Sounds like delegation to me.

These Calvinists are conflating meanings of the word "pleased". When the psalmist says God does as He pleases, he is saying God does what He decides to do, no one is over Him dictating what He must do
(some might even say He is sovereign...), not that He gets his jollies from what He does. This video is yet another example of how Calvinists just don't understand how language works...

The thing no Calvinist seems to understand is that saying, "I do as I please," is not the same as saying, "It is impossible for me to be displeased with anything that happens," or "Everything that happens is what I please to do."

That was a painful discussion panel to listen in on. It highlights that Calvinists use the same vocabulary, but a different dictionary.

These guys are comical. They have never been with my wife and myself, when I ask, "Where do you want to eat?". She pauses, then asks, "Where do you want to eat?". This goes on for hours, dead tie.

Choose ye today who you will serve light dark blessings curses good or evil.
As for me and my house we will choose to serve the Lord.

It seems like it’s not just the exception but more likely the rule, that Calvinists believe Calvinism because that’s the only biblical option even up for consideration in their minds.
It’s really a blessing for them that they have this mindset with trust in Christ and not any other religion because it literally is an arrogant mindset.
I know what’s true and I don’t even need to take into consideration that competing interpretations/ understanding might be true.

Based on Nortier's performance here, and quite a number of interactions I've had with Calvinists, it seems that once they "understand" Calvinism, they are incapable of accurately understanding anything that is not Calvinism.

Thanks gentlemen 👍🏻

He is Trying to have reformed cake and not reformed cake at the same time, and eat it too.😮

It's called Contradiction Cake.
And it's not possible to digest, because it's impossible, untrue, and illogical, and must be vomited out.

You cannot serve two master or have a married bachelor, or circle square

Calvinism makes sense when you do not try and make sense of it. I say this with respect, but you can see these guys trying to navigate the “logical” cluster (blank) that occurs when you discuss any aspect of the system in detail. Hence why you can’t dig too deep into any specific part of it and why you often see them pivot or move off of a line of thinking, knowing the logical end is too much to wrestle with.

Edit** I’ll also add it’s so funny these guys discussing the want or desire to make choices or whatever. They make all these assumptions or statements about reality through the Calvinistic system and how that makes the system make sense but if you have them go through a situation outside of a discussion where they talk about Calvinism they become very Libertarian Free Will.

I listened to this group two times in the past, and they are just so dogmatic they can't see past their tinted glasses.  Nearly just soaked in the pop Calvinism and not so much the reformed tradition itself.

Again that's the issue with those hyper.calvinists.
