I’m so glad they used real footage from the tragedy when it happened. The amount of flowers and devastation was INSANE in real time.

I think Queen Elizabeth II realized a little too late that Princess Diana was the breath of fresh air the monarchy desperately needed at that time. She may not have understood how deeply Diana connected with people until she saw the outpouring of grief after her death. The Queen came from a very different generation, one where emotion and openness weren’t easily expressed, so adapting to a changing world must have been difficult for her. Sadly, I think she only truly understood what Diana meant to the nation when it was too late. 😢

I remember watching the funeral.  Those 2 sweet boys.  The card reading "Mummy" .  Whoever can't be moved by that scene doesn't have a soul.

I feel like when Diana died, everyone in the world got quiet and paused for a moment. The entire world… I hope she is happy and resting in peace. With no pain, sadness, fear, or loneliness.

Wow....she really nailed it. This sounds just like Her Majesty The Late Queen. What an outstanding actress ! ❤❤❤

I was there. My home is literally just next street from Buckingham Palace. It was an incredibly sad day. I remember watching William struggle to keep his head up. Harry was still a kid so he just looked like a shy kid walking in a room of strangers. I had never seen so many people crying all at once including myself.  We all felt like we lost a sister, a mother, an aunt, and a queen. We all forgot our differences and just came together in unity as a country. RIP Diana. You are forever missed.

Every flower in Europe lie on the ground that weekend. The aerial view of her coffin in Westminster Abbey was utterly devastating. The impact of her loss bewildering.

I was 7 at the time I remember my mother crying when Diana died, she said Princess of the World has died, we are grieving today.

I remember as a child seeing my dad cry because she had died and it was mindblowing to me, she really had an impact on so many people

He got it wrong : we cried for her , because good people are hard to find , good people in power are even harder but good people in power and love in their hearths is a lost for a generation, she was an angel our angel my mother cried in PERU when she died , you would think she lost a sister , and that love was contagious I’m 42 now and I still feel the lost every day , how someone so good had to suffer so much and die so senselessly, we cried for her , we still do.

Her reach was so vast that a woman in Jacksonville Alabama U.S.A., planted and dedicated a garden to her on the highest point on her land. Think about that. I can’t remember another person in history moving so many people.

Diana touched hearts, there was something so exceptionally special about her. I was 12 and remember watchthing the procession. We wept for the boys and I'll never forget the letter from Harry on her coffin. Diana's death caused change within the English Royal Family. Change that may not have occurred has she lived.

She felt compelled to address the public due to the overwhelming display of affection from the populace. Princess Diana was adored globally, and the entire world was in a state of shock and mourning, with many believing her death was not accidental. The Princess of Hearts, with a heart of gold, genuinely cared about ordinary people and their issues. Her humanitarian work was unprecedented.

That answer to William's question was so incredibly wrong. The people were indeed crying for Diana because she was kindness and love. The people grieved the loss for her boys as well.

I was there in The Mall for the funeral.   I got there on the Friday afternoon and me and my friend came out on the barrier overnight.   I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive them for making those boys behind the coffin.  For me one of the worst things was when they walked past me and I just felt absolutely dreadful for William & Harry especially as Harry was only 12 years old at the time I was just too young to be forced to deal with such things.  In fact, I can still see their faces now.

I am just grateful that Diana is at peace now but that week in August 1997 as me, 26 years old at the time, was a week that I will never forget for as long as I live.

I don’t know what was more gut wrenching for me, William holding that cloth to his face or Harry discovering the present from Paris his mother bought for his birthday. No child at those ages should ever bury a parent.

We all stopped in shock when the news came over. She had flaws as we all do, but she genuinely loved her charity work and most of all, her beloved sons. She was extraordinary. What she had to endure was impossible and I still believe the paparazzi had to do in part with the accident. She just wanted some peace when she went out. She was not just the UK's Princess, she was the world's. My heart broke watching her sons escort her to her funeral. It was heartwrenching.

The Queen did a good thing here. It was a hard thing, but she did a lot of hard things. God's peace to her.

I was born two years after Princess Diana passed away. My mother told me about her when I just started my secondary education. My mother has always been fascinated by her life and presence. Today being in my mid 20s I feel what a great human being she had been that after nearly 30 years of her sad demise, I watch this lady with awe, admiration and respect, whom I couldn't get to see when she was alive. And I believe that is the greatest irony and her greatest achievement as well that Princess Diana will always be remembered with such reverence and love from people all over the world. The world doesn't get people like her that often. ♥️

You never know what you had until it is gone
