Brother, there is no magic trick or quick fix. You either want to get the help or you don’t and so far it seems like you don’t want to stop. You have got to stop being so soft on yourself and looking for every excuse to keep drinking. It’s not about giving something up, it’s about gaining an amazing life that you will not have as long as you keep drinking. Idk man, I’ve been following your channel since day 1 and you may want to start listening to the people you call the trolls, not the ones that keep telling you the bullshit that you want to hear. I have rooted for you since day one, but sometimes you have to stop making excuses, and the reason you are anxious is because of the alcohol, so you can’t stop blaming being anxious on alcohol. It’s time to get some real help man, before it gets too late

Your "friend" came round, saw you physically shaking then leads you to buying beers in the shop, going to the pub AND making vodka in your house. To me, that wasn't someone that was checking in, it was someone looking for somewhere to make (and drink) his vodka out of sight of his Mrs. He was using you mate. You say this guy helps in other ways, but someone who would happily lead his mate to three activities that all included alcohol is not someone you need around you. I would be so annoyed with that friend. Maybe my mates are just better human beings. If they saw me shaking, they would never encourage a day of drinking. Saying that, you could have shut your mate down and said no and even if you carried on drinking on your own, you would have made slight progression in not saying yes to him, had a cup of tea, had a good chat and sent him on his way. I do appreciate your honesty in this video but you need to start making small steps of progression. Please please please go to that doctor's appointment and don't sack it off. You need help from professionals and AA...not geezers down the boozer.

I'd recommend rehab at this point, it's your life and choices, but you need professional help 💗 I promise it's not more frightening than active addiction. Sending you love and best wishes.

If you think you have a drinking problem and you won't stop, if you was in the liver ward in a hospital for even a few hours you it would put the shivers up you because if you don't stop you will be exactly like them people and trust me you don't want to be there

I didn't sober up until I stopped interacting with every single enabler in my life. It wasn't easy, there were some hurt feelings, but my sobriety was my top priority, period. There are no quick fixes, there are no shortcuts. It's hard work, and only you can take that first step. No other human on earth can take that step for you. Find new, sober friends, and you won't be on your own. You have the info, you aren't dumb, you know where the help is. But only you can reach out for that help.

I’m a mental health nurse and we are seeing more and more younger people coming into hospital with alcohol related dementia . Nearly all of them will end up in. Nursing homes because when they do go home they drink again and end up back in on a section and then a nursing home because they just can’t look after themselves anymore, their memory is poor, they can’t retain new information . The youngest we’ve had in with alcohol related brain injury patient was 45 . We used to only see old people over 65 but mainly late 70s and 80s now we are getting more and more in their early 50s. You really don’t want alcohol related brain injury or liver failure . Either way, you’ll end up needing full time carers or a care home if you don’t take this seriously . I really really hope you take this seriously, keep blogging, get to rehab or any support groups and get back on the wagon . Do anything you possibly can to keep yourself sober and if that’s taking medication , doing rehab, doing YouTube videos each day you do it because ultimately not drinking is your main priority every day and it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as whatever you do keeps you sober . After watching several of these videos over the past month I'm afraid i have to agree with some of the comments on here and say that I really don't think you deep down want to quit. I think perhaps it's only a medical intervention that will give you pause for thought, and by then it will probably be too late. It's that damage you can't see being done that you should worry about.....a liver will only take so much abuse.

I think a six-week residential rehab might be in order, buddy. Apart from giving you some time off drinking, you can learn new coping strategies and really get to understand your drinking behaviour, triggers etc. Between 2000 and 2016, I progressed to drinking two litres of Jack Daniels a day. All that mattered was alcohol. I was either planning on how I could drink, drinking, or recovering from the last day's drinking.  I couldn't hold down a job and my morals were non-existent, so I ended up committing fraud. I was terrible at it, so my door got kicked in by CID and I ended up in prison in 2016. I had a lot of the problems you have now with a house I struggled to afford after my girlfriend of eight years left me.

I served six months in jail and treated my prison sentence like rehab. It was easier to get booze in a Cat D jail than it is outside of prison, but I refused. That was my rock bottom. My two best friends continued to drink while I was away. When I came out at Christmas 2016, one of them was given three months to live due to drinking and the other checked himself into rehab. Two of us haven't drank for nine years now, while our other buddy is no longer with us.

You have to make the choice, mate. Even if you have to leave or sell everything you own. It's so worth it. You couldn't PAY me enough to drink alcohol now. That's the real 'goal' here. Not pining after it, but truly thinking "Thank God I don't have to do that anymore!" I don't avoid it. I still go to pubs and bars and restaurants. Still buy wine for 'normal' drinkers at barbecues. I could never limit my drinking once I started, but now I drink exactly the amount of alcohol I want to, which is zero. Think about it. ❤

Mate I'm not being funny but you are looking for quick fixes for an issue that you took years to make. There is no getting away from a certain amount of suffering - it's like a seesaw... what goes up must come down. You have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable in your own skin. Alcohol messes with your GABBA receptors which I would be confident in saying is why you have such huge anxiety issues, the booze doesn't help with the anxiety it causes it, but you are thinking of it the wrong way round. Whilst hypnosis will help it will likely not 'fix' your problem on it's own - maybe looking up and researching the effects of alcohol addiction will help you to get a grasp on what you are dealing with and give you some tools that may help. I also have to say again - anyone who is drinking around you knowing that you are struggling is not doing right by you.

When I quit drinking it was a full year before my cognitive function seemed to begin to recover. Alcohol starves the brain of important chemicals. Takes a long time to build them back up. My brain worked great when I was drunk every day. Then I quit and felt dumb for 2 years or whatever it was.

If you wish to spend a year bedridden wearing a nappy and having to learn to walk again . Dependent on everyone take medicine for the rest of your life and be in constant pain and take medication for the rest of your life, you're going the right way about it.
I had a liver transplant last year and it's NOT a walk in the park.
Your issue now isn't whether you feel tipsy and could still drink another bottle of vodka
It is to stop drinking with help. Going cold turkey can kill.
You are not making a choice between hypnosis or AA etc. You have reached a point now where like me, you are choosing between life and death.  Alcohol is the silent killer and cirrhosis is often not detected until it's too late.

Not being nasty but you come across as if you don't want to stop drinking and enjoy wallowing in self pity you will never stop drinking unless you flip a switch and decide to do it by getting reffered to a residential rehab otherwise you will just be making these videos and drinking til your liver fails that's just reality and you can only stop drinking if you face that reality instead of living in denial while making excuses to drink,hope you do it tho 🙏

Most of us have been unwilling to admit we were real alcoholics. No person likes to think he is bodily and mentally different from his fellows. Therefore, it is not surprising that our drinking careers have been characterized by countless vain attempts to prove we could drink like other people. The idea that somehow, someday he will control and enjoy his drinking is the great obsession of every abnormal drinker. The persistence of this illusion is astonishing. Many pursue it into the gates of insanity or death.

We learned that we had to fully concede to our innermost selves that we were alcoholics. This is the first step in recovery. The delusion that we are like other people, or presently may be, has to be smashed.

We alcoholics are men and women who have lost the ability to control our drinking. We know that no real alcoholic ever recovers control. All of us felt at times that we were regaining control, but such intervals—usually brief—were inevitably followed by still less control, which led in time to pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization. We are convinced to a man that alcoholics of our type are in the grip of a progressive illness. Over any considerable period we get worse, never better.

This might sound strange, but it isn’t a put down as we normally think of put downs, to tell you that it doesn’t seem like you want to quit. The nuances with addiction are mind bending. Not wanting to quit is literally addiction. There are important steps between I hate what addiction has done to my life to the I give up stage. You’re not ready to give up. You haven’t in your soul accepted you can’t think your way out of this. You aren’t taking direction. You don’t believe your addiction is cunning and patient and on your own it will always win.

I’ve been watching since the start of your channel as someone on the “other side” of addiction, I’ve never been an alcoholic but I had (still have as an addict is always an addict) an addiction to opiates which started in my teens. I’m only 26 now and have been sober from using heavily for around 2 and a half years. I won’t go into the origin story so to speak of my addiction as to simply put it, I loved opiates a lot socially and it ended up with me having to take pills as soon as I opened my eyes to stop withdrawal. I’m not sure how alcoholism works but opiates take a grip very quickly, and a lot of people including myself don’t/didn’t even realise they’re actually addicted until they tried to cope without said drug. They completely numbed my anxiety which I’ve dealt with my whole life, and even before I started getting withdrawals I’d be using just simply because they made me feel good. Then I was in a constant state of chasing the dragon as my tolerance built up to a point where it took so much just to reach that nice feeling, so I was risking my life everyday to get high. I’m rambling a bit here but the number 1 thing that got me sober wasn’t the overdosing, wasn’t the withdrawals, because any addict will tell you those things become part of the package and unless you really want it, you won’t get sober. Accountability and the decisions I made got me sober. I got with a new partner almost 2 years ago now, I had been off of the pills for a bit at this point, but I was open and honest with her from the start about my addiction even though I hadn’t used in a while. This single handily is one of the main reasons i’m still sober to this day, having someone who understands the gravity of your problem and someone who is going to hold you accountable. I also have friends who i’ve been very open with about all this. You don’t have that. Your friend although seems concerned, was showing concern after seeing you shaking but decided to allow you to drink as much as you have and also go down the boozer with him, he is not going to hold you accountable, he is enabling. I completely understand being scared, the anxiety, and everything else that comes along with getting clean but you need people who are going to hold you to your word. I’m not saying by any means that other people are going to get you sober for you, that is on you, but imagine being a kid in a sweet shop with no adult to tell you to take it easy, you’re not going to take it easy, you’re going to get as much chocolate as your hands can physically carry because why would you not if no one is going to tell you no? Although i’ve been clean for a long time now, I still struggle with it, when life gets tough I know getting high would make me feel better, or when my anxiety gets bad I know getting high would made me feel better, but I have people who are going to tell me it’s going to be okay without and that that would be a bad decision. On top of this i completely cut off anyone else who was using around me, it hurt some feelings sure but my life is so much better because of it. My only concern these days is if I ever god forbid have to take painkillers (opiates) for some sort of injury or chronic illness because taking a painkiller, opiates specifically is a very normal thing to do in certain circumstances in life but that is a battle i’ll fight with my people if it comes to it. Keep going mate, this is not a belittling comment just an insight of what can be done when you’re not isolated with only your addiction to think about. I’ll still be following your journey, I see a lot of the struggles I dealt with in yourself which is why I stay invested and hope to see you get better, I just hope that you take the help you’re getting and I hope you create some good relationships with people who have your best interest at heart.
