All Aboard the USA's longest rail excursion trip! At 216 miles round trip, Adirondack Railroad's "High Peaks Limited" takes passengers northwards from the Mohawk Valley to the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. This video, made on August 22, 2026, includes many scenes along the picturesque journey plus commentary by Adirondack Conductor Bill Moll, a retired career railroader and 34 year volunteer with the Adirondack RR.
Of special note: a flag stop at the long-abandoned site of the Brandreth station, 75 miles north of Utica.

My dad worked for the Penn Central which became NY Central, then Conrail. My brother worked for Conrail, then after the lay offs he came back to work for AmTrak.
Combined they had more than 80 years in the RR.
