There's a series of video's on YT involving British rail and how a team of men used to walk the rails and repair them. Also, at one time in hump yards, a carman was placed in a protective room beneath the hump tracks and he checked underneath and put white paint on the car should it needs repair. In order to make huge profits, railroads have stopped this. I see CSX is laying off over a thousand carmen and others whose job it is to make sure rolling stock and rails are safe.
Haven't heard that name for a spell . Icant imagine why a derailment would occur there of all places . Its very rare that it even happened, CSX lines are pretty well maintained. Beautiful state though. Vman
Thurmond WV is a beautiful place, stunning scenery. I've not heard of a derailment there before very rare the tracks always kept in great condition by CSX, handy that RJ Gorman are usually in Thurmond
Was it loads coming off the st. Jean Branch which is RJ Corman's train that's delivered to CSX. Not sure if that's still the operations as from over a decade ago. Thank God it's not the steam engine on the new river trains
