As the deadly virus spreads through the Hive, the facility’s artificial intelligence system known as the Red Queen seals the entire underground complex and begins killing everyone trapped inside to stop the outbreak from reaching the outside world. With scientists collapsing, security systems activating, and panic spreading through the lab, the opening scene becomes a terrifying mix of sci-fi horror, infection terror, and claustrophobic suspense that perfectly sets the tone for the franchise.

Resident Evil is a sci-fi survival horror film following Alice and a military team sent into the Hive, a secret underground Umbrella Corporation facility overrun by a deadly T-virus outbreak. Combining zombie horror, viral infections, underground laboratory terror, mutated creatures, and survival suspense, the film became famous for launching one of the biggest horror franchises ever made.

Featuring the T-virus, the Red Queen, infected scientists, underground laboratories, deadly lockdowns, Umbrella Corporation experiments, and terrifying outbreak scenes, Resident Evil blends sci-fi horror, zombie horror, creature horror, and survival thriller elements into a nightmare inspired by the iconic Capcom video game franchise.
