Got jar of medicine ending

I think Bound By Fate’s Thread is the perfect ending for Wuchang.

Wuchang lost her younger sister, but has found herself Fang Yao. Fang Yao lost her elder sister, but has found herself Wuchang.

Whilst they can never truly replace their biological sibling, I think it’s really sweet that they found closure in each other, and thus be able to move on to create a new life - a new future together. Lowkey a soulslike story about acceptance and how lingering obsession is poisonous to one’s soul

cannon ending is bound by fate's threads, He Youzai even goes as far as saying this is the true ending INSIDE the cutscene lmao

The fact that the titles is ending explained and you have to put a spoilers warning at the beginning of the video shows how far we all havw fallen.

The amount of work that goes into these videos is incredible. I applaud you sir for your efforts and this great video.

I'll never understand why most people are calling Dream's Sweet Deceit the "true" ending when as you said, it obviously continues the cycle: Another commentor pointed out that it's essentially Wuchang creating a delusional world because she could not accept the loss of her sister - In fact I think all the endings are about her grief.

The key is in the name, Wuchang is dreaming. This is not reality but a falsehood she's crafted for herself out of grief - Denial & Bargaining in one - When she defeats her Demon of Obsession, it seems like a victory but it is not. Truly, in fusing the rings and attempting to alter reality itself for her own obsession, she becomes the very demon she's been fighting all along: It was always a reflection of the path she was walking down. Her soul will never be able to move on and thus she has also negated the true goal of Taoism - She's cemented herself to her own reality and will never let go and will in the beliefs of Taoism, be left to wander the afterlife as a Demon of Obsession.

Successor Of The Bo is an interesting ending, but it's in the same realm of refusing to accept the loss of her sister. If you listen closely to the Bo Magus' dialogue with you, she speaks about wanting to burn the world just to save her people and this ties right into Wuchang's grief - In this ending, you give fully into Anger. Wuchang decides that she would burn the world to bring her sister back and, whether she succeeds or not, it will never be real.

Jarful of Medicine is a hard one to tie to Depression I think, but maybe it's about the cycle of self-destruction. Notably even on your 1st playthrough, there's already 2 human-sized jars next to your old "friend", which makes one wonder if Wuchang is in both jars, otherwise who is in the 2nd?

The "true" ending therefore is Bound By Fate's Threads, it's the only ending in which Wuchang can finally let go of her grief and thus her soul can move on. The sword that was seemingly put in your hands by your own inner demon has been left by the wayside, symbolically demonstrating that she has overcame the beast within.

I was dumb and just handed over the chisel just like I'd been giving the objects from bosses to the merchants only to find out I effed up.
On to NG+...

So basically the ending most people get is basically the game saying "HAHA! You did it wrong! Now you have to play again and do it right!"?

I really enjoyed this game :) The last act was a total trip

I GOt the bad ending. became KIMCHI at the end.. dang it!

Explore everything in the game > defaults to bad ending.
A great reward for spending more time with the game.

Jarful of medicine is Wuchang had her limbs cut off n got stuffed into the jar for experiments (was done to certain npc in side stories). And it's implied that Xuan Yang Zi is the one instructing those factions what to do to resurrect people, creating the bosses in the game.

you are indeed the vaatividya for this extremely underrated beautiful yet tragic game!

This story has the level of sophistication one would expect from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and also Lies of P.

I think the alchemist will continue the cycle of lying to wuchng till he finds the true elexier of life.

I really liked this game.

How the F are people pumping out videos like this in less than a week after release? Wild how fast people got through this game

I'm very tempted to 100% this game, but I cannot for the life of me allow that bastard, Xuangyangzi, to torture Wuchang anymore. I am just going to NG+ without ever getting that ending and suck it up to never being able to 100%.

6:00 - 6:10 u mention Xuanyangzi coming back from death but as you mentioned in the beginning that the forbidden land exist beyond space and Xuanyangzi saying during the fight the chisel Wuchang gave him in a past life aided his ascension makes me believe the Xuanyangzi that stabs her and the final boss are not the same at least not yet Because of the endless cycle and the final boss being Xuanyangzi regardless if u give him the chisel. The final boss is Xuanyangzi from a different cycle thab the one u give him the chisel in ur current play through.
Hope this makes sense and if anyone has a different idea or additional information I’d like to hear bc I kind of like the story and wanna know more

Wow! This was really cool that you did a more detailed breakdown of the endings. I also enjoyed the long form video that you did on the whole game itself. And your detailed videos into the lore and history of Black Myth Wukong is masterfully done and it is what brought me to your channel. Will you be making more lore videos on games featuring Chinese and other Asian mythos? If so I suggest Xuan Yuan 7, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, The Legend of the Sword and Fairy 7, Sekiro, Where Winds Meet (when it comes out) and The Wind Road.
