The standing ovation for The Hammer was awesome!

There was a mystic to Major League Baseball back then that just does not exist today.

What a great standing ovation for Hank Aaron during the AL line-up announcements, well deserved.  RIP

Keith Hernandez said that when he made his first all star game, in 79, National League president Chub Feeney came into the locker room before the game and said to the players “I don’t want to hear any bullcrap about this being an exhibition. You go out there and win this effing game”. He then turned to the manager, LaSorda that year I think, and said “and you manage like it’s the 7th game of the World Series”. Game was taken a little more seriously back then.

I saw this telecast at the time, and it's nice to see it again 50 years later.  I miss the days when the All-Star Game was about the All-Star Game instead of the Home Run Derby.

Yaz with the longest damn bat I've ever seen.

Awesome. Thank you for posting this. As a fan of the Big Red Machine this was extremely nostalgic.

The A's came out with the entire fashion line....
Rose playing like it was game #7 of WS...
'Hammerin' Hank' get the standing O, where it all started...

I miss my youth🥲

Foster won MVP in 76.  Madlock and Matlack were co-MVPs for 75.  1975...when Milwaukee was in the American League, Houston was in the National League and Hank Aaron's card was on the Twinkies box.  Ducky Bent (for Boston fans), Goose, and Reggie would soon be joining Catfish and Nettles in NY.  Munson was lost way too soon, as was Catfish.  Thanks for the nostalgia.

This is great… people posting old games.👍

Crazy… no Mike Schmidt and no Steve Carlton.

RIP Bobby Lee B😢onds, he was all we (Giants)e had in the

These all star games are a lot of fun. This one started off crazy with two Dodger home runs! Thanks for posting

Joe Rudi: he got more ink about not getting ink than most players who got ink.😂

What a time to be a 9 year old boy!
