Thank you Andrew.  That sense of humour is delightful!  🤣😂😅 And always straight forward information 🌸🐝🇦🇺😺🇯🇵

The JR pass that covers the South of Hokkaido doesn't include Matsumoto, while the Tohoku-only one does, correct? Thanks for your videos as always.

Firstly the setting you're in is next level 😮 You've got the traditional Japanese room with the outside garden ambience and you've even got 'Japan Unraveled' in the shot, professionalism noted 😉
You're level of information combined with your comical wit gives the Japanese traveller the full picture and understanding of how to effectively and economically travel every time.

The "proof of the pudding" is you actually being a Japanese longterm resident who's been there, done the miles and freely willing to share your knowledgeable experiences.

This on-ground authentic knowledge is why I'm subscribed to your channel. Keep bringing it, keep sharing it, keep Japan travelers ahead of the pack 💪

Will be traveling 10 days through Tohoku with my JR east pass from Nov 4th! My itinerary is so similar, can't wait to go and explore 😍😍

I actually used the 10-day JR East Pass earlier this year. I was able to get about 90,000 yen worth of train trips galavanting across Tohoku out of a 50,000 yen pass, and that was with a couple of rest days mixed in.

One recommended side trip from this pass is the Akita Nairiku Line, which runs from Kakunodate Station to Takanosu Station in Akita Prefecture. The line is separate from JR so you will need to buy a different ticket, but it's a small price to pay for some absolutely gorgeous mountain scenery in a region that is about as far off the main tourist trail as you can get in Japan these days. Kakunodate is on the Akita Shinkansen Line, while from Takanosu you can ride the JR Ou Line Limited Express to link back with the high speed rail network in Aomori or Akita.
