This movie was absolutely insane and I enjoyed myself all the way through it! It was over the top in all of the best 1980s action movie ways. However, at heart, I swear this is actually a western! And Sam Elliott is just so cool. So. Cool. Patrick Swayze also does a great job - and rips a man's throat out with his bare hand. A guy got hit with a polar bear. What more could you want?!

Bill Murray's friend is the real-life husband of the Dr (Kelly Lynch) and every time Bill sees this movie on TV he rings or texts the husband and says "Patrick Swayze is fucking your wife"

“You’re too stupid to have a good time,” was such a great retort.

That is the Jeff Healey Band at the Roadhouse. RIP Jeff. He doesn't want his Mercedes messed up, so he buys a beater car for cheep.

This is a fun movie. A highlight of this film for guitar players and musicians is the late, great Jeff Healey. Blind from a very young age he taught himself to play guitar with his own, lap style technique. He was a great player and musician, cursed with various cancers from birth, who died too soon.

Bouncers are known that way.. Mr T got noticed because he was a top bouncer, so did the undertaker.. many people are known in the bar scene as top guys, I was a head bouncer..

The "I fu**ed guys like you in prison" line always shocks people 😆

In any service industry, there are known names. Bouncers, chefs, servers, whatever. Word gets around.

It's definitely a modern-day western: The cowboy (Dalton) rides into town in a Mercedes Benz (instead of a horse) brandishing fists and a PhD in Philosophy (instead of a gun), and fighting the bads guys from a glitzy nightclub (instead of a saloon). Escapism (as most movies are) at its best...even if others may claim it's served with a side of 80's cheese!! Love this movie!! "And I thought you'd be bigger!!"

Tell me you've never heard AC/DC without telling me you've never heard AC/DC. 🤣

I love how self aware this film is. I also love Ben Gazarra as the main villain. He’s just so quirky as a Chicago mobster, who apparently moves to rural Missouri to shake down the 3 main businesses in town, but he brought in a JC Penney:)

I've worked in the private secuity and investigations business for 20+ years and every single company I have worked for gas used the Dalton be nice clip in training. And yes there is a universe of noted seecurity officers.

Tito and Tarantula was the band in the beginning. They were also in Dusk till Dawn.

"I ain't got 20 bucks". Cracks me up every time I see it

Dalton and Garret were well known because they specialize in cleaning up really bad places.

When you said the movie reminded you of a western I remember reading were someone else also thoughts and pointed out how every character is named like a cowboy to the point where even the love interest is called "Doc"

Had the joy of seeing this in the theater. That throat rip looks completely different when Swayze is 20' tall. 🤣🤣🤣

Molly the B .... I have to say - it's hard for me to imagine a more entertaining commentary for this Film than what you just delivered. Bravo - very well done! And the Western analogy was spot on! 😘
